Job description

Where you'll work:
Our flexible, hybrid work model offers the option to work remotely or in the office.
How you'll contribute:
As an Actuarial Associate, you'll be responsible for deliverables related to our variable annuities and flagship registered-index-linked annuity product, Shield. This position supports the Liability Analysis and Services team and is responsible for production and analysis that informs hedging-related reporting, attribution, and strategy.
In this role, you'll get to:
  • Own the monthly production of asset results for variable annuities and Shield products in the PathWise environment; support the production of attribution results, sensitivity grids, and ad hoc runs.
  • Conduct hedging analysis, including sensitivity testing, attribution, and forward-looking estimation for variable annuities and our flagship registered-index-linked annuity product, Shield.
  • Identify, measure, and propose solutions to enhance hedge strategy; review hedge performance.
  • Develop deep expertise in our asset and liability models; perform model updates, testing, review, and investigation as needed.
  • Analyze drivers of results and communicate insights to management.
  • Create and improve analytical tools and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to maintain consistency in production processes and deliverable schedules, assumptions, and modeling methodologies; stay up to date on regulatory and reporting changes.
  • Partner with the model development team to request, document, and approve model changes and to improve processes that enhance efficiency.
  • Work with the Leader of Hedging Liability Analysis to prioritize, plan, and execute projects.

We're looking for people who have:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or Finance.
  • Recently credentialed ASA or actively pursuing ASA completion.
  • 3 years of actuarial experience preferred.
  • Variable Annuity and RILA product knowledge preferred.
  • Asset modeling experience preferred.
  • Computing and programming skills; Python preferred.
  • Experience with SQL database queries preferred.
  • Experience with actuarial modeling software; PathWise preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Project management skills; detail- and process-oriented.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Conceptual and analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business priorities and deadlines.

What you'll receive:
  • Compensation - Level and salary to be commensurate with exam progress
    • Associate Level (4+ Exams): Base salary ranging from $84,000 to $98,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
    • Senior Associate Level (ASA): Base salary ranging from $100 to $125,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
