Job description

Overview
The Supplier Manager position is responsible for managing the implementation and execution of the sourcing strategy for assigned commodities and/or products, managing the products within the contract requirements to ensure product supply, ensuring ongoing cross-functional coordination, and delivering annual improvements in total cost, quality, and service. This position is responsible for contributing to the process of sourcing strategy development, supplier selection, negotiation, and strategy refinement. Additionally, this position will support the development and implementation of strong business systems to establish and manage supplier partnerships and to positively contribute to the company's objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities
    • Drive the sourcing strategy through effective communication, monitoring, and compliance.
    • Champion annual productivity improvements by leading joint internal and supplier teams, pursuing continuous quality improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
    • Establish close working relationships with other functions to ensure full understanding and support of the strategic sourcing perspective.
    • Develop expertise in the business needs and capabilities for products managed, staying current with supply market trends, supplier economics, and best practice sourcing.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of company's sourcing knowledge base and best practice by identifying and implementing sourcing solutions aligned with company objectives.
    • Improve and maintain a consistent supply process which maximizes delivery performance and inventory utilization.
    • Track and manage core supply chain performance metrics and ensure that performance issues are quickly addressed.
    • Partner with stakeholders to address technical issues for products and processes. Minimize past dues and eliminate the gap between order request and order promise dates.
    • Ensure contractual requirements related to the managed products are monitored and upheld.
    • Manage new business and product related launch activity, leading certain efforts while also managing the day-to-day.
    Minimum Job Requirements
    • Minimum of 5 years of sourcing or operations experience or equivalent in Pharma or Medical Device industry
    • B.S. or B.A. degree in scientific, technical, or business discipline
    • Knowledge of quality systems and cGMPs
    • Experienced with third party vendor manufacturing management
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment at all levels of the organization, make effective management level presentations, write formal reports dealing with both technical and business implications, and prepare project plans
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
    • Ability to travel, up to 50%

Additional Information
The base salary range for this full-time, remote-based position is $120,000-$150,000. Individual pay is determined by several factors, which include but are not limited to: job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The range does not include the comprehensive benefits, vehicle allowance, bonus, long-term incentive, or any additional compensation that may be associated with this role.
