• Conduct thorough mental health assessments specifically tailored to a geriatric population that may face complex psychological issues, including cognitive decline and chronic illness.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic approaches suitable for older adults.
• Provide individual and family therapy sessions using established methodologies to address the psychiatric conditions common within this age group.
• Collaborate extensively with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to create an integrated care strategy that ensures the well-being of each patient.
• Offer timely crisis intervention and support during emergencies, utilizing established protocols to manage acute mental health situations.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health disorders, guiding them through understanding treatment options and available community resources.
• Maintain accurate and secure patient records in compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, using advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development sessions to stay abreast of best practices and advances in geriatric mental health.

You will be primarily focused on working with older adults experiencing a range of mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety disorders, dementia-related challenges, and adjustment disorders. Our practice is dedicated to enhancing the mental health of this vulnerable population, ensuring they receive compassionate and competent care that respects their unique experiences and individual needs.

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Applicants must hold a current and valid license as an LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, LSCSW, or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in the state of Kansas.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and an understanding of geriatric mental health disorders is crucial for this role.
• Excellent communication skills with a patient-centered, empathetic approach are essential for building rapport with elderly clients and their families.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred to streamline documentation and improve patient care.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling focused on elderly populations is strongly preferred.
• Experience delivering individual and family therapy specifically to older adults.
• A track record of successful collaborative work within multidisciplinary mental health teams.
