Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an advocate for clients, connecting them with necessary community resources such as financial support, housing assistance, and educational programs.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention services for clients dealing with acute mental health challenges, such as suicidal ideation or severe trauma responses.
  • Engage in community-based mental health initiatives aimed at reducing stigma and promoting awareness, thereby fostering a healthier, more supportive environment for all.
  • Maintain meticulous records of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to HIPAA and other applicable regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance.
  • Participate in ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities to enhance both clinical and personal growth.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve consist primarily of students and their families, presenting with a broad range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges. You will play a critical role in equipping these individuals with the skills and strategies needed to navigate both academic pressures and personal hardships, fostering resilience and emotional intelligence.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.
  • Holders of a valid Virginia LCSW license with the capacity to practice independently are preferred.
