Job Title: HR Generalist

Location (City, State): Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Compensation: $75,000 โ€“ $80,000 annually

Work Schedule: Full-time | Mondayโ€“Friday | 40 hours per week

Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 remote

About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with our client, a rapidly expanding CPG company, to hire an experienced HR Generalist.

Job Description:

The HR Generalist will serve as a key member of the human resources team, supporting a broad range of HR functions including payroll support, benefits administration, recruiting coordination, employee relations, and HR systems management. This role is ideal for a well-rounded HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys both operational execution and employee-facing support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support payroll processing activities including data validation, reporting, and audit support (bi-weekly payroll cycle).
  • Assist with full-cycle recruiting efforts including posting roles, coordinating interviews, and supporting onboarding activities.
  • Act as a primary contact for employee questions related to benefits, policies, and general HR inquiries.
  • Administer benefits programs including enrollments, changes, employee communications, and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HRIS data integrity within ADP Workforce Now.
  • Partner with managers to support hiring needs and maintain updated job descriptions.
  • Assist with HR compliance activities, audits, and documentation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a consistent employee experience.
  • Prepare HR reports and assist with data tracking using Excel and HR systems.
  • Contribute to HR process improvements and internal communication updates.
  • Support additional HR initiatives and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required (HR certification preferred).
  • 4+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a multi-location or multi-state environment.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, specifically ADP Workforce Now (Ceridian Dayforce or Powerpay a plus).
  • Prior exposure to payroll support and/or payroll auditing strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a growing organization.
