Remote Human Resources Professional information

What is a remote human resources professional?

Remote Human Resources Professionals are HR specialists who perform recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and other HR tasks from a location outside the traditional office, often from home. They use digital communication tools to manage employee needs, support organizational policies, and ensure compliance with labor laws. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency with HR software and virtual collaboration platforms. Remote HR professionals are essential in supporting distributed teams and maintaining company culture in remote or hybrid work environments.

What does a remote human resources professional do?

A remote human resources professional helps to recruit new employees, process employee payroll and benefits, and enforce company policies. Instead of working in the office, this position completes their tasks from home or another location outside of the office with internet connectivity. As a remote human resources professional, your job duties may include assessing the qualifications of an applicant and conducting phone interviews to determine if they are a good fit for the company. Administrative responsibilities involve assisting staff with understanding their benefits package, processing payroll, and collaborating with other HR staff to develop training programs for new and current employees. While most of your tasks are completed remotely, you may need to attend meetings in the office occasionally.

How do remote human resources professionals effectively build relationships and foster engagement with employees they rarely meet in person?

Remote Human Resources Professionals often rely on a variety of digital tools—such as video conferencing, instant messaging, and employee engagement platforms—to maintain strong connections with employees. Building trust and rapport remotely requires proactive communication, frequent check-ins, and creative virtual initiatives to keep employees engaged and supported. HR professionals may also organize virtual events, wellness programs, and recognition activities tailored for remote teams. Overcoming the challenge of physical distance involves being approachable, responsive, and intentional about fostering a positive remote work culture.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote human resources professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Human Resources Professional, you need a solid understanding of HR practices, employment law, and talent management, typically supported by a degree in human resources or related field and relevant certifications like SHRM-CP or PHR. Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS), payroll software, and virtual collaboration tools is essential. Strong communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills help you effectively manage employee relations and support distributed teams. These skills are vital for ensuring compliance, maintaining a positive virtual workplace culture, and delivering efficient HR services remotely.

Job description

About PeopleLift
PeopleLift (DBA Visconti Group) is a twice Inc. 5000-recognized bilingual HR consulting, staffing, and AI workforce strategy firm with operations in Atlanta, Georgia and San Juan, Puerto Rico. We serve clients across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Latin America, delivering talent and workforce solutions that help our partners grow. We are building a team of driven, consultative professionals who own their outcomes and take pride in the relationships they build.
About the Role
We are hiring a Business Development Recruiter to run a full-desk seat: win new clients, grow and retain the accounts you land, and personally deliver the placements that keep those clients coming back. This is a sales-forward role for someone who leads with new business but is equally comfortable managing the full recruiting cycle end to end. You will be the single point of accountability for your book of business - from first outreach to signed agreement to successful placement.
If you thrive on opening doors, closing deals, and seeing a search through to a hire, this role gives you complete ownership of both sides of the desk.
What You'll Do
New Business Development (primary focus)
  • Identify, target, and win new client accounts across our core markets (Puerto Rico, Florida, Atlanta, and LATAM)
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of prospective clients through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events
  • Research target companies and decision-makers, and lead consultative sales conversations that position PeopleLift's staffing and workforce solutions
  • Negotiate fees, terms, and service agreements, and move opportunities from first contact to signed engagement
  • Represent PeopleLift at conferences, association events, and professional gatherings to generate leads
Account Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the clients you bring on, ensuring a high-quality experience at every stage
  • Grow existing accounts by understanding client hiring needs, cross-selling services, and expanding volume over time
  • Maintain strong, long-term client relationships that drive repeat business and referrals
  • Track account health and proactively address issues before they affect retention
Recruiting & Delivery
  • Own the full recruiting cycle for your accounts: intake, sourcing, screening, interviewing, presenting candidates, and closing offers
  • Write clear, compliant job descriptions and market openings across relevant channels
  • Source and qualify candidates using job boards, LinkedIn, the ATS, and proactive outreach
  • Guide candidates through the interview and offer process and support a smooth start
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system
What You Bring
Required
  • 3+ years of experience in staffing, recruiting, business development, or B2B sales
  • Demonstrated success winning new business, hitting sales or placement targets, or growing a book of business
  • Full-cycle recruiting experience, or a clear track record in a client-facing sales role paired with the ability to learn delivery quickly
  • Strong consultative communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-directed, organized, and comfortable owning outcomes without heavy day-to-day oversight
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn, and standard business tools

Preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience in staffing or recruiting within Puerto Rico, Florida, Atlanta, or LATAM markets
  • Familiarity with mid-market employers and multi-industry recruiting
  • Existing professional network in one or more of our target markets
What Success Looks Like
  • A growing pipeline that consistently converts into new signed client accounts
  • Clients who stay, expand, and refer because of the experience you deliver
  • Roles filled on time with quality candidates, reinforcing the accounts you've won
  • Ownership of your desk's revenue, retention, and results
