DUTIES:
As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY)(NGT5805700), GS-0203-7, you will organize, develop, and administer locally authorized military human resources actions for the unit and to provide counseling and assistance to assigned personnel and their dependents. Forwards additional human resources actions to appropriate host Military Personnel Flight (MPF). This position may be tasked to perform a variety of administrative and other duties that support the military human resources function.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is sedentary. Some work may require periods of standing at a counter. Employees frequently carry light items such as employee files or pamphlets. The work does not require any special physical effort.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  • May be required to successfully complete a TWO (2) year trial period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for the position within a ONE (1) year of the appointment.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent upon satisfactory completion of the mandatory training specifically identified for the position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the Government Travel Credit Card (GTC) as a condition of employment.
  • Federal employees currently serving in the excepted service (Title 32) must acknowledge they will voluntarily leave the Title 32 excepted service by accepting an offer of employment for this NG Title 5 excepted service position.
  • Position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration and will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
  • Irregular and overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
  • Must possess a valid Puerto Rico State driver's license to operate government motor vehicle in accordance with Service specific Vehicle Operations Directives.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position
  • Duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. Incumbent must maintain awareness of your environmental responsibilities as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements, your organization, and its changing mission.

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
HRO MUST process and clear the Department of Defense (DoD), Priority Placement Program (PPP), prior to advertising all internal and external job vacancies and promotion announcements. QUALIFICATIONS:
You will lose consideration for the position if your application does not include all the information/documents requested on the vacancy announcement. GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower-level GS-06 position or the equivalent TWELVE (12) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such asproviding counseling and assistance to assigned personnel and dependents; identifying and analyzing HR issues, problems, and factual data; identifying the scope and nature of problems or issues, and determining the appropriate techniques/action from among many alternatives; accomplishing a variety of military human resources transactions; providing assistance on various accounting and finance issues; reconciling master HR records against computer files and/or against records that the organization maintains.
Education
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university (30 semester's hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for THREE (3) months of specialized experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester's hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for SIX (6) months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.

Copy of the Official/student transcripts showing conferred Degree must be included in order to receive credit for education. Unofficial transcripts from internet or with alterations will not be considered. To receive credit for education the information must be included in the education section of the Resume.
