Job description

Build Better Leaders. Shape Organizational Performance.

A lot of leadership development roles are built around delivering on a training plan. This one is built around changing how leadership actually shows up in the business.

At Metro Credit Union, we’re looking for a Leadership Development Manager who wants to build, experiment, influence, and make a visible difference. You’ll partner directly with the VP of Learning & Talent to strengthen manager effectiveness, improve engagement, elevate talent conversations, and create practical solutions that help leaders get better at the moments that matter.

If you get excited by building boldly, using data to find the real problem, experimenting with new tools, and helping leaders become more effective, this was role was made for you!

What You'll Do

Lead Manager & Leadership Capability

  • Strengthen expectations for effective people leadership across the organization
  • Design practical leadership and manager development experiences tied to measurable outcomes
  • Build scalable tools, coaching support, and reinforcement strategies that help managers succeed

Drive Talent & Engagement Outcome

  • Lead engagement survey administration, interpretation, and manager action planning
  • Help managers improve coaching, feedback, development, and performance conversations
  • Translate employee feedback, performance trends, and talent data into actionable recommendations

Scale Impact Through Data & AI

  • Use data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities related to manager effectiveness
  • Experiment with AI tools, agents, simulations, and other emerging approaches to make leadership development more practical, scalable, and engaging
  • Measure leadership development effectiveness and connect efforts to meaningful outcomes

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12-18 months, you will have helped:

  • Strengthen manager effectiveness across the organization
  • Improve coaching, feedback, and performance conversations
  • Improve engagement action planning and follow-through
  • Build scalable leadership resources with measurable impact

Examples of Experience We Value

Strong candidates often bring experience such as:

  • Building manager or leadership development programs from the ground up, including virtual, hybrid, or cohort-based experiences
  • Launching coaching programs, peer networks, mentoring initiatives, or leadership communities
  • Improving engagement, performance conversations, talent reviews, or succession planning through stronger manager enablement
  • Using survey, performance, feedback, or talent data to target development efforts and demonstrate business impact
  • Experimenting with AI-enabled learning, coaching, agents, simulations, or practice environments that helped people build skills faster and more effectively
  • Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can demonstrate clear business impact, not simply program delivery.  This is a must.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in leadership development, talent development, organizational development, manager effectiveness, or a related field
  • Experience working directly with leaders and managers at multiple levels
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, consulting, and influence skills
  • Ability to translate data and insights into practical action

Preferred

  • Experience with employee engagement surveys, talent review, succession planning, or performance management enablement
  • Experience with talent platforms such as Lattice
  • Comfort experimenting with AI tools, agents, simulations, and practical use cases that improve learning, coaching, or organizational effectiveness

What Great Candidates Can Demonstrate

Candidates should be ready to discuss initiatives they personally led, including.

  • The business problem they were solving
  • Their specific role and contribution.
  • How success was measured and what changed because of their work

The strongest candidates won't simply describe programs they facilitated. They'll explain what changed because of their work and how they know it made a difference.

Work Arrangement

  • Standard schedule: three days on-site, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and two days remote.

  •

Compensation Disclosure

  •
  • $105,000 - $135,000

  • The salary range listed provides a general expectation for the role. Final compensation is based on experience, unique strengths, and the impact you are expected to make. Metro also offers a competitive benefits package and additional perks that contribute to total compensation.

  •

Why Join Metro?

  • This is a rare chance to help shape how leadership works inside a growing organization, not from the sidelines, but right in the work with leaders who are ready to get better
  • You’ll have room to build, permission to experiment, visibility with senior leaders, and the chance to see your work show up in stronger managers, better conversations, and a healthier employee experience
  • Join a collaborative HR team that values practical ideas, strong follow-through, and continuous improvement
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage; paid vacation; 11 paid holidays; volunteer time off; wellness and lifestyle reimbursement benefits
  • 401(k) with match and safe harbor contributions, plus EAP, FSA, HSA, prescription drug program, voluntary benefits, and access to no-interest loans.

If you're ready to move beyond delivering training and build the kind of leadership systems you wish more organizations had, we’d love to talk with you.
