Job description

Zoho CRM Specialist
Overview
Augusto Digital is looking for an experienced Zoho CRM Specialist to join us on a contract basis, with the potential to grow into an ongoing role. You'll work with an existing, in-production Zoho CRM instance that needs expert attention: assessing how it's currently configured, re-organizing its structure to match how the business actually operates, and preparing it for integration into a larger custom application ecosystem. This is not a greenfield build and not a standalone admin role, it's a restructure-and-integrate engagement on a live system.
This is ideal for a mid to senior-level Zoho practitioner who has cleaned up and optimized existing CRM installs before, is comfortable advising on process design, and can work alongside engineers on API-level integration.
Engagement Details
  • Term: 3-month initial engagement, renewable based on ongoing workload and fit.
  • Commitment: Approximately 10-20 hours per week, with the heavier end expected during the initial restructuring and integration build window.
  • Location: Remote.
Key Responsibilities
CRM Workflow & Process Consulting
  • Work with stakeholders to understand how the CRM is used today, then redesign workflows, lead management, pipeline stages, assignment rules, notifications, and reporting around the improved structure.
  • Advise stakeholders on CRM best practices and recommend the right Zoho-native approach vs. custom development.
  • Guide the client's team through structural changes, including communication, documentation, and light training so adoption sticks.
  • Build dashboards and reports that give the client's team clear operational visibility.

Platform Integration Support
  • Support integration between Zoho CRM and the rest of the client's platform using Zoho's REST APIs, webhooks, and middleware.
  • Write Deluge functions and scripts where native configuration isn't enough.
  • Collaborate with Augusto engineers on integration architecture, data flow, sync strategy, error handling, and API authentication.

Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner with Augusto engineering leads and the client's team to deliver production-ready solutions.
  • Explain configuration decisions, trade-offs, and limitations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work independently, own deliverables, and communicate progress proactively.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Zoho CRM Expertise
  • Hands-on experience administering and improving existing Zoho CRM instances, not just net-new implementations. You've untangled someone else's configuration before.
  • Deep knowledge of Zoho CRM configuration: modules, blueprints, workflow rules, automation, and role/profile security.
  • Solid understanding of CRM process design, lead-to-close workflows, pipeline management, and reporting.
  • Experience making structural changes on live systems with real users and real data, including rollback planning and change communication.

Integration Skills
  • Experience with Zoho CRM's REST APIs and webhooks.
  • Working knowledge of Deluge scripting for custom functions and automation.
  • Experience connecting Zoho to external systems via middleware (n8n, Zoho Flow, Make, Zapier) or direct API integration.

Delivery Skills
  • Independent, self-managed, and comfortable owning deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to gather requirements directly from client stakeholders and turn them into a working configuration.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Broader Zoho One ecosystem experience (Zoho Books, Desk, Campaigns, Analytics, Creator).
  • Zoho certification (Zoho CRM Certified Consultant/Administrator).
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, Python, or TypeScript for integration work.
  • Experience with automation platforms like n8n and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Experience migrating clients from other CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive) into Zoho.
To Apply
Please include a short description and example(s) of previous work that demonstrate your experience with:
  • An existing Zoho CRM instance you audited and restructured, what state it was in, what you changed, and how you managed the transition for its users.
  • An integration you built between Zoho CRM and an external system (API, webhook, or middleware).
  • A CRM process or workflow you redesigned and the business outcome it supported.
