Job description

Position: HR Business Partner / Employee Relations Consultant
Location: Remote
Pay Rate: $68/hr
Duration: Through 11/30/2026

In this role, you'll partner with business leaders to provide strategic HR guidance, employee relations support, workplace investigations, and performance management consulting. You'll collaborate with leaders, HR partners, and legal teams to resolve complex employee issues while helping drive organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to leaders and employees on performance management, employee relations, and HR policies.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop performance improvement and corrective action plans.
  • Conduct workplace investigations, employee interviews, and fact-finding activities.
  • Analyze employee relations issues and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Interpret company policies, procedures, and employment regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, and leadership on sensitive and complex employee matters.
  • Support conflict resolution, performance coaching, and workplace issue management.
  • Prepare investigation summaries and documentation for HR leadership and Legal.
  • May also support HR Business Partner initiatives, including succession planning, compensation, organizational planning, and HR program delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of Human Resources experience with progressive responsibility.
  • Strong Employee Relations and workplace investigation experience.
  • Experience serving as an HR Business Partner or providing strategic HR support to business leaders.
  • Experience resolving performance management and employee conflict issues.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of California labor laws and federal employment regulations.
  • Experience in a union environment and Labor Relations is highly preferred.
  • Experience with succession planning, compensation, leave management, or union contracts is a plus.
