What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Remote Hospital Construction, and why are they important?

To thrive in Remote Hospital Construction, you need expertise in project management, construction engineering, and healthcare facility standards, often supported by a relevant degree and certifications like PMP or LEED. Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, AutoCAD), remote collaboration tools, and compliance systems is crucial. Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication set standout professionals apart in this role. These skills ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to regulatory standards, even in challenging and remote environments.

What are some common challenges faced when managing hospital construction projects remotely?

Managing hospital construction remotely often involves navigating communication barriers, ensuring project milestones are met without on-site supervision, and coordinating between diverse teams such as architects, engineers, and hospital administrators. Remote project managers must be adept at leveraging digital collaboration tools to monitor progress, address issues promptly, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations. Establishing clear communication protocols and frequent virtual check-ins are critical for keeping all stakeholders aligned, ensuring quality standards, and minimizing delays.

What is remote hospital construction?

Remote hospital construction refers to the process of designing and building hospitals in locations that are geographically isolated or difficult to access, often using specialized techniques and technologies. These projects typically require careful planning to address logistical challenges, ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment, and meet the unique healthcare needs of remote communities. Remote hospital construction may also utilize modular or prefabricated building methods to speed up the process and improve efficiency. The goal is to create safe, functional, and sustainable healthcare facilities in areas with limited infrastructure.

Our core business is MEP Modeling and Coordination, and we also provide services such as Steel Framing, Prefabrication, BIM for Facility Management, Scan to BIM, and Design Assist, along with an Innovation area that develops tools and apps for the AEC industry. Our purpose is to innovate and modernize the construction industry by leveraging BIM technologies to make our clients' work more efficient.

As a company, we value candor, accountability, and a winโ€win mentality and work as a horizontal, highly collaborative organization. A Business Unit in ENG is a group of approximately 30 team members with its own set of clients, portfolio of projects, P&L, and growth strategy.

This BU will be fully dedicated to the electrical subsystems, engineering vs. construction, delivering BIM/VDC solutions for complex, USโ€based projects. You will Own the strategy, financial health, operations, and growth of the Electrical BU.

Lead a multiโ€layer team of Project Managers, BIM Coordinators, Technical Leaders, Job Captains, BIM Specialists, and Modelers focused on US BIM MEP delivery. Be the bridge between clients, project execution, and financial performance, ensuring highโ€quality delivery, strong client relationships, and a motivated, growing team. This position reports to the Head of the Electrical VDC, and works closely with other BUDs across ENG's delivery organization.

Location, Availability & Time Zones Remote role based anywhere in the United States, with availability across all US time zones and occasional travel to client sites and industry events. Mandatory Requirements (United States Posting) Technical & Market Experience 10โ€“15 years of experience in the Construction & Engineering industry, with a solid, deep background in electrical systems and construction means & methods. Proven handsโ€on BIM experience: you must have personally modeled using tools like Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, ACC & Teams (profiles that only "managed" BIM without modeling will not be considered).

Mandatory: substantial experience delivering USโ€based BIM MEP projects (physically in the US and/or remotely for US clients), including familiarity with US standards, construction practices, and workflows. Prior experience as a leading of BIM/VDC teams, managing remote teams across multiple seniorities and roles (PMs, Coordinators, Leads, Specialists, Modelers). Education (US) Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Construction Management is strongly preferred.

Other degrees may be considered if paired with a very strong electrical focus, such as: Construction/Building Sciences and Architecture, with an extensive experience in largeโ€scale commercial construction projects including data centers, hospitals, semiconductor fabrication facilities and airports. Advanced, handsโ€on proficiency with Revit and Navisworks for MEP/Electrical. Professional experience with some of the following is highly valued: Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam or similar BIM/VDC tools.

Preferred Experience leading the full VDC lifecycle from preconstruction through to asโ€builts, including prefabrication shop drawings & spooling. Prior experience in multiโ€cultural, distributed teams across US + LATAM. Top Job Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & BU Ownership Position ENG as a leading electrical BIM/VDC partner for US data centers and complex MEP markets.

Own full P&L accountability, driving revenue growth, margin performance, and accurate forecasting. Optimize profitability through dataโ€driven pricing, staffing, and project portfolio decisions. Client Management & Business Growth Serve as a strategic advisor to key US electrical clients, managing scope, negotiations, and longโ€term partnerships.

Expand business through upselling, crossโ€selling, and new client development in missionโ€critical sectors. Project Execution & Operational Excellence Ensure delivery of highโ€quality, codeโ€compliant, constructible electrical BIM models across projects. Lead scalable QA/QC, risk management, and workflow excellence across parallel engagements.

Lead and develop a 30 people BU, fostering a highโ€performance, accountable culture. Drive succession planning, career development, and hiring of top electrical BIM talent. Champion adoption of BIM/VDC, automation, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and quality.

Maintain mastery of core tools (Revit, Navisworks, ACC, Bluebeam) and sponsor innovation in prefabrication and coordination. Leadership & Business Skills Proven experience managing financial KPIs, forecasting, and business line performance. Strong clientโ€facing leadership with a track record of account growth and team mentorship.

You Are Great for This Role If You Love combining deep electrical/BIM expertise with business ownership and leadership. Thrive in fastโ€growing, changing environments, and naturally think in terms of scalability and longโ€term impact. Enjoy coaching and mentoring senior professionals and building strong, autonomous leadership benches.

Are energized by being the face of ENG to key US electrical clients and by driving business expansion through trust and technical excellence. Why Join Us? โ€“ US Benefits As a member of ENG's US staff, you are hired under US laws and regulations, with compensation structured as an annualized gross salary that includes benefits such as health insurance and 401(k) coverage.

Payments are made on a semiโ€monthly basis. In addition, we offer: Performance Bonus Program: Quarterly performanceโ€based variable compensation, tied to company billing targets, BU goals, and individual performance. Full Work Equipment: Laptop, headphones, wireless keyboard and mouse, monitor, chair, and all necessary software licenses.

Connectivity Stipend: Monthly allowance to cover internet and related expenses. Flexโ€Work Policy: Fullโ€time role (40 hours/week), but you can organize your schedule flexibly as long as it is coordinated with your team and does not impact delivery. We focus on results, not face time.

Workโ€Fromโ€Anywhere Policy (with coordination). No fixed minimum or maximum number of days per year. National holiday calendars are not mandatory; you coordinate time off with your team and project timelines.
