Position Overview

Alameda Psychotherapy Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LMHC, LICSW) to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to provide compassionate mental health care for diverse client needs while contributing to their overall well-being and recovery. You will engage with clients through evaluations, individualized treatment planning, and both group and individual therapy sessions, all aimed at fostering improved mental health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews with clients, systematically documenting their mental health journey from initial consultation through the completion of treatment.
  • Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health using thorough assessment methods, identifying specific individual needs and symptoms.
  • Develop targeted intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, setting clear goals aligned with the client's aspirations.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques tailored to diverse therapeutic needs.
  • Consistently monitor clients' progress against outlined treatment plans, adjusting strategies as necessary to address evolving challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, physicians, and social workers, integrating a multidisciplinary approach to care.
  • Follow up with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals concerning clients requiring hospital admission, ensuring continuity of care and support.
  • Proactively identify any behaviors that may disrupt the recovery process and engage clients and their families in effective management plans.
  • Provide psychoeducation and support to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with strategies to assist individuals facing mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic serves a varied demographic that includes individuals facing numerous challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. You will work with clients from different backgrounds, requiring cultural sensitivity and an understanding of their unique circumstances. Each client's journey will be respected, with a focus on client-centered therapy to empower them in their healing process.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
  • A passing score on the National Counseling Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor with a successful track record of working with diverse client populations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, enhancing efficiency in record-keeping and client management.
  • Informed understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions and addiction disorders.
  • Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with individuals affected by severe mental health disorders and those coping with complicated recovery paths.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health care team.
  • A strong background in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between USD 80,000 and 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This position also comes with the additional benefit of a sign-on bonus.
