Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health; meticulously document client cases from the initial consultation through to the end of treatment.
  • Design and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, based on assessed needs and evidence-based practices.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions to promote recovery, support emotional health, and develop coping strategies.
  • Regularly monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with fellow mental health specialists, doctors, nurses, and social workers to create comprehensive intervention strategies that support holistic client care.
  • Follow up with psychiatrists and primary physicians to ensure clear communication and cohesive treatment efforts for clients admitted to hospitals.
  • Identify behaviors that may impede recovery, proactively addressing these challenges with clients and their families.
  • Support family members and primary caregivers in managing mental health challenges, fostering a broader support network for clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Alameda Psychotherapy Services, you will work with a varied client population, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. You will engage with individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction issues. Understanding the unique backgrounds and experiences of each client is crucial to deliver effective and empathetic care.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in Massachusetts.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong proficiency with electronic health record platforms, with experience using AVATAR being advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively document cases and communicate with clients and other healthcare professionals.
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience as a mental health counselor providing both individual and group therapy.
  • Experience in addressing underlying physical and emotional health conditions and addiction disorders.
  • A thorough understanding of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications and their effects on mental health.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills combined with a compassionate and empathetic approach to counseling.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, accompanied by a signing bonus.
