• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of patients through structured interviews, observations, and analysis of medical records to accurately evaluate the emotional, social, and environmental factors influencing their recovery.
• Provide empathetic counseling and tailored support to patients and their families, assisting them in coping with adjustment issues related to their health challenges and fostering overall emotional well-being.
• Collaborate closely with the rehabilitation team to craft individualized treatment plans. Your insights on patients' psychosocial needs will be integral to ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care.
• Assist clients in identifying and accessing community resources, such as support groups, vocational rehabilitation services, and housing assistance, thereby facilitating a holistic approach to their recovery.

At Pearl River Counseling Services, you will work with a diverse array of clients who may experience various challenges linked to physical or mental health issues. This includes individuals recovering from surgeries, medical treatments, traumatic events, or chronic conditions. Your role will involve advocating for their emotional needs and reinforcing their strengths as they navigate their rehabilitation process.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois.
• A solid foundation in the principles of social work practice, particularly within a clinical context.

• Previous experience in a rehabilitation or medical setting is highly desirable, enabling you to understand the unique dynamics of patient care in these environments.
• A deep comprehension of adjustment issues, grief, coping mechanisms, and therapeutic interventions that benefit patients recovering from health crises.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients, their families, and fellow team members.
