Familiarity with energy modeling software, blower door testing equipment, and remote inspection technologies is crucial. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and time management help ensure accurate assessments and effective coordination with clients and builders. Job description

About Zero Homes

Our mission is to electrify the world's homes for healthy and sustainable living. Residential electrification is an extraordinary decarbonization opportunity - 145 million homes in the United States account for 20% of our climate emissions. But today, electrification is painful - it's too complicated, time consuming, and expensive. So we're building a new experience for homeowners, contractors, and utilities. Zero bridges the gap between the digital and the physical with a frictionless experience that makes electrification fast, easy, and affordable.  Join our team to build a world class consumer experience that just so happens to electrify America.

About the Role & Your Impact

We are hiring an HVAC sales lead to be the trusted expert to homeowners throughout their journey of upgrading and electrifying their homes. You'll be the central customer touchpoint during the digital (remote) consultative sales process, using our software to create customized system designs and quotes, and guide homeowners through all-electric upgrades that match their needs. Your subject matter expertise will improve the comfort, efficiency, and carbon footprint of homes, all while ensuring the homeowner's experience is exceptional.
What You Bring
  • 5-10+ years of success in sales, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quarterly targets in a consultative selling environment
  • Deep expertise in residential HVAC, including heat pump sizing, system design, quoting, and solution-based selling
  • Comfort with technology and digital tools, including CRM systems, remote design software, and virtual communication platforms
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and build trust with homeowners
  • Excellent organization and time management, with strong follow-through and CRM discipline
  • Confident presenter and storyteller, comfortable in 1:1 consultations or group settings
  • High attention to detail, a curious mindset, and a drive to find tailored, high-performance solutions for every customer
Nice to Have
  • Sales leadership experience, including mentoring or training junior reps
  • Multilingual communication skills, especially Spanish, to support a broader range of homeowners and partners
  • Experience with utility programs, rebates, or incentive structures for heat pumps and home energy upgrades
  • Familiarity with Manual J, S, and D or relevant HVAC design software (e.g. WrightSoft, CoolCalc, LoadCalc)
  • Background in energy efficiency, building science, or home performance (e.g., HERS rater, BPI certification)
  • Previous experience selling to or through contractors, utilities, or city programs
  • Comfort working in a startup or fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Knowledge of home electrification technologies beyond HVAC, like heat pump water heaters, EV chargers, or smart panels
$120,000 - $350,000 a year
For this role, we offer a combination of base salary plus commission, with target earnings between $120,000 and $350,000, varying with experience and sales proficiency. The position also includes stock awards + benefits.

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

- Equity
- Medical, Dental, and Vision
- Generous PTO + unlimited sick days
- Primarily an in-office role, with a flexible schedule
- Workstation stipend
