• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their specific psychological and emotional needs to design tailored treatment plans.
• Provide empathetic individual and group counseling services, addressing issues related to aging, loss, adjustment difficulties, and mental health challenges.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, including physicians, social workers, and care coordinators, to develop and implement comprehensive care strategies for geriatric residents.
• Guide and educate family members about the emotional challenges faced by their loved ones and strategies for enhancing their quality of life.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for clients and families, assisting them through the complex end-of-life processes.
• Initiate and oversee cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions designed to enhance cognitive functioning and mental wellness among the elderly.

Your primary focus will be on our senior clientele, who may be experiencing a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and adjustments to life changes such as retirement, loss of loved ones, and chronic illness management. The role requires a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by this demographic, including their emotional needs and cultural sensitivities.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in Washington State.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience specifically in geriatric mental health counseling and support.
• Proficiency in evidence-based interventions focused on promoting mental well-being in older adults.
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to develop tailored interventions to meet the specific needs of elderly patients.

• Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and understanding cultural nuances relevant to the elderly.
• Additional certifications or training in geriatric psychology or specialized mental health issues that affect older adults.
• Familiarity with digital health tools and platforms for remote counseling and support services.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, a sign-on bonus is available.
