Our outpatient office provides a flexible and accommodating atmosphere where counselors can thrive, utilizing teletherapy tools to reach clients effectively. You will work from your home office, engaging with clients through secure virtual platforms, and occasionally interacting with fellow team members to optimize treatment approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate clientsโ€™ mental, behavioral, and emotional health using established diagnostic tools and methodologies.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention and recovery plans tailored to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions designed to encourage open communication, emotional processing, and personal growth.
  • Monitor client progress continuously throughout the treatment journey, making necessary adjustments to care plans to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, as well as healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Follow up with medical professionals regarding clients who may require hospitalization or specialized care.
  • Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement strategies to minimize risks associated with mental health challenges.
  • Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with strategies to help manage behavioral and psychological challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At Healthy Wave Counseling Center, we serve a diverse patient population, including adults, couples, and families facing various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Qualifications

  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a commitment to evidence-informed practices.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms for documentation and client management.
  • Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and related interventions, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of mental and physical health integration.
  • Familiarity with the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on active listening and empathy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering a nurturing and open therapeutic environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and a range of psychological conditions.
  • Previous involvement in group therapy facilitation, providing an understanding of group dynamics and therapeutic processes.
  • Experience with crisis intervention strategies and risk assessment methodologies.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, with additional incentives such as a sign-on bonus. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Healthcare benefits that cover medical, dental, and vision needs.
  • A retirement savings plan featuring employer contributions, helping you plan for your future.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) policies and holiday pay to promote work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional development, ensuring you stay current in the field.
  • Pathways for career advancement within our practice, as we support your long-term professional goals.
  • A collaborative and supportive work culture where you can thrive together with fellow mental health professionals.
