Position Title: Platform Product Lead
Location: Remote (In the U.S)

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Product Lead to support the VA.gov Platform Management team in delivering scalable, reliable, and user-centered digital services that support millions of Veterans, caregivers, and VA employees. In this role, you will lead product strategy, stakeholder engagement, roadmap prioritization, and cross-functional coordination across engineering, design, operations, and customer teams to ensure successful delivery of platform capabilities and operational improvements.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about government modernization, digital transformation, platform operations, and improving the Veteran digital experience through collaborative product leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead product planning, prioritization, and roadmap management for VA.gov platform initiatives
  • Partner with engineering, SRE, DevOps, UX, and operations teams to align business priorities with technical execution
  • Facilitate collaboration across internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and government stakeholders
  • Translate strategicobjectivesinto actionable product requirements, user stories, and delivery plans
  • Drive backlog refinement, sprint planning support, release coordination, and Agile delivery activities
  • Communicate solution delivery requirements, project status, risks, dependencies, contingencies, and escalation paths to stakeholders across varying technical and executive audiences
  • Support transition planning, knowledge transfer activities, and operational continuity efforts
  • Identifyoperational gaps, risks, future requirements, and improvement opportunities across platform services and supporting systems
  • Track and communicate product health, milestones, metrics, and delivery progress to leadership
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings, working sessions, demos, executive briefings, and decision-making forums
  • Ensure alignment with accessibility, cybersecurity, compliance, and platform governance standards
  • Apply Agile best practices to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with external dependencies and evolving priorities
  • Support change management, prioritization discussions, and cross-team coordination efforts across platform initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to obtain andmaintaina Public Trust clearance
  • Associate's degree plus a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience supporting product management, program management, platform operations, or digital service delivery initiatives
  • Additionalrelevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Experience managing relationships across diverse audiences including technology partners, customers, end users, executive leadership, and vendors
  • One industry-recognized cloud or cybersecurity certificationrequired(examples include Security+, SSCP, CCSK, or equivalent)
  • One industry-recognized project management certification preferred (PMP, Scrum Master,SAFe, CSPO, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting large-scale federal IT modernization or digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, backlog management, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to communicate solution requirements, feedback, timeline considerations, escalation paths, and delivery status clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging based on audience, role, rank, and operational context
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate dependencies, risks, action items, and calls to action in plain language
  • Ability to apply business architecture and system engineering concepts toidentify, manage, and resolve delivery risks, future requirements, and prioritization changes
  • ExperienceleveragingAgile best practices to manage multiple projects and workstreams with external dependencies
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Mural, or similar collaboration and work management tools
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting VA or other federal civilian agencies
  • Familiarity with VA.gov platform operations,DevSecOps, SRE practices, cloud environments, or digital services delivery
  • Experience supporting organizational transitions, onboarding efforts, or knowledge transfer initiatives
  • Experience coordinating across product, engineering, operations, and executive leadership teams in highly visible environments

WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard business hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting. Periodic travel may be required based on program needs and customer requirements.
