To thrive as a Remote Grinder, you need strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience in operating grinding machinery, often supported by a high school diploma or vocational training. Familiarity with CNC grinding machines, safety protocols, and quality control systems is typically required. Excellent problem-solving skills, time management, and the ability to work independently are important soft skills for this role. These skills ensure precision in manufacturing, adherence to safety standards, and efficient production, which are critical for success in remote or off-site environments.

Remote Grinders often encounter challenges such as maintaining equipment performance without direct on-site support, managing time zones for communication with team members, and ensuring workplace safety in a non-traditional setting. Staying proactive with regular equipment maintenance, utilizing clear communication tools, and following strict safety protocols can help address these hurdles. Building a routine and keeping an organized workspace also contribute to productivity and safety when working remotely in this hands-on role.

What are remote grinders?

Remote grinders are skilled workers who operate grinding machines from a remote location, often using advanced technology or remote controls. They are responsible for smoothing, polishing, or shaping materials such as metal, wood, or plastic, typically in manufacturing or industrial settings. This role can involve working with CNC (computer numerical control) systems, monitoring machinery, and ensuring quality standards are met, all while not being physically present at the job site. Remote grinders help companies maintain productivity and safety by allowing work to continue even when on-site presence is not possible.

Tax Manager -- Agricultural Niche (Remote)

Ranch Right

Sheridan, WY • Remote

$125K - $150K/yr

Posted 21 days ago

Job description

Are you a CPA who wants to step into a real book of business — not build one from scratch?

Ranch Right is a fully virtual accounting and advisory firm serving farmers and ranchers across the United States. We're looking for a Tax Manager to join our team and take ownership of 30–50 active agricultural clients from day one, with a path to grow from there.

This isn't a compliance mill. We are aggressive, creative tax planners who genuinely help ranch families build wealth and keep more of what they earn. If you love finding legal wins that change a family's financial trajectory, this is your role.

WHAT MAKES THIS OPPORTUNITY DIFFERENT:

→ Instant book of business. 30–50 active clients from day one — no cold calling, no business development grind.

→ A niche worth mastering. Agricultural tax is complex, underserved, and endlessly interesting — entity structures, succession planning, equipment depreciation, land transfers, retirement planning. You'll become one of the best in the country at something that matters.

→ Real impact. Our clients are ranchers and farmers building generational wealth. Your work directly changes what they pass on to their kids.

→ A startup that's figured it out. We're 5–6 years in — past the scary early stage, but still moving fast and building. You'll shape how we scale.

→ Leadership path. This role grows into a supervisory position. You'll develop SOPs, mentor teammates, and have real influence on how Ranch Right operates.

→ 100% remote. We are a virtual-first team. Work from anywhere with a great internet connection.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

- Own tax preparation and aggressive tax planning for your client portfolio
- Deliver year-end and long-term tax strategies
- Support succession planning and business exit strategies (as part of a team)
- Establish and administer retirement accounts (IRAs, 401ks, etc.)
- Lead monthly client education webinars
- Train and uplift the Ranch Right team on tax rules and compliance
- Partner with our Senior Accountant to build and refine internal processes

YOU'RE THE RIGHT PERSON IF YOU:

- Hold a CPA license with real tax experience
- Think about tax planning multiple moves ahead
- Have won audits and aren't afraid of them
- Thrive in a remote, team-oriented environment
- Are tech-savvy and comfortable on Zoom with clients
- Want to build something, not just maintain it
- Care about agriculture and the families who make their living from the land

WHO WE ARE:

Ranch Right is an all-virtual, all-remote accounting and advisory firm. We focus on management accounting and helping our clients become more profitable. Our mission: empowering farmers and ranchers to build profitable businesses and generational wealth.

We're a fun, tight-knit team with a genuine culture — built around teamwork, growth mindset, and mastery of our craft. We share knowledge, we challenge each other, and we care deeply about the people we serve.

If that sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to hear from you.
