Foot Locker's Core Engineering team is driving digital transformation in our retail store and corporate technology environments. The Sr. Manager, Cloud Platform Engineering will lead a talented team of engineers who collectively demonstrate technical excellence, reliability in delivering mission critical systems and infrastructure, and who continually ensure the highest levels of availability, optimization, and customer service. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, organized individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a history of coaching and mentoring others, and a strong knowledge in IT infrastructure design, deployment, and project planning. This position is accountable for defining and executing the infrastructure strategy that provides best-in-class technology experiences across our cloud service provider hosting platforms.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute on long-term cloud platform strategy, implement innovative solutions, and foster operational excellence
  • Deliver project portfolio for cloud service provider hosting platforms, consistently ensuring performance, reliability, recoverability, security, and organization of cloud resources
  • Continuously assess, enhance, adhere to, and report on modern FinOps practices to optimize cloud platform spend; share trends in collaboration on expense budgeting
  • Manifest high-performing team members through creation of a shared purpose and mission; attract and retain exceptional talent; manage staff by recruiting, mentoring, and growing our associates; develop personal growth opportunities; and manage team efficiency, quality, and production
  • Construct executive-level reporting including notable metrics, trends, and data points
  • Define and enforce documentation standards and process automation across the Cloud Platform Engineering environments
  • Incorporate Automated Intelligence to accelerate engineering
  • Leverage an automation-first, customer-centric mindset to engineer a platform for cloud infrastructure services that integrates into our developer portal and enables governed self-service provisioning, visibility, stewardship, and troubleshooting
  • Maintain professional and technical external focus by attending and leading practice areas and centers of excellence, evaluating new technologies, and promoting knowledge sharing across the department

Qualifications
DESIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms with a focus on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud
  • Management or lead experience in implementing, managing, and maintaining infrastructure for high volume enterprise applications, robust e-commerce implementations, and support of common development practices
  • Strong understanding and experience with key technologies such as code / container / image repositories, serverless code deployments, CI/CD through orchestration, environment management, and infrastructure as code in a large production environment
  • Experience with best practices for modern technologies such as zonal / cross-region redundancy, container orchestration, auto-scaling, and application gateways
  • Conceptual knowledge of hardware- and software-based firewalls, traffic management, load balancers, routers, and switches
  • Experience developing, organizing, tracking, and implementing IT projects
  • Influential leadership with the ability to partner, inspire, and build consensus
  • Proven success in teaching, coaching, mentoring, and fostering accountability for engineers and other technical team members
  • Ability to build and demonstrate trust across teams through competence, reliability, sincerity, and empathy
  • Understanding of TLS certificate management usage, deployment, and maintenance
  • Familiarity with Jira and work intake / work management techniques such as scrum and agile.
  • Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience and demonstrated success leading highly technical global initiatives
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading multi-disciplined technical teams, preferably with global reach across multiple service types
  • Strong knowledge of IT security concepts, IT infrastructure concepts, and IT Service Management
  • Ability to travel <10%

Benefits
The annual base salary range is $140,000 - $180,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
