Job Description

Role Overview

The Manager, Strategic Events is responsible for overall internal event and meeting support and execution and the planning and implementation of effective customer conventions and meeting programs for the Advanced Diagnostics (ADx) BU.

This person will determine trade and customer event and meeting strategies that support the company's strategic sales and marketing plans and help formulate the appropriate activities to meet our marketing objectives. This position will work closely with the Marketing and Sales team to help execute all marketing programs and initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal events including sales meetings, VIP/KOL meetings, sales incentive trips, Town Halls, and other engagement events ensuring inclusion of other BU sites, where appropriate

  • Lead events team and sales and marketing stakeholders to develop strategic plans for tradeshow execution and success measures

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration with business partners and leaders across the organization to plan, organize and implement events, as well as manage initiatives to ensure satisfactory results and delivery within established deadlines at an appropriate cost

  • Clearly communicate with business partners and planning team members on project plans, creative and execution strategy, and project status

  • Act as the lead event planner or support planner depending on business need

  • Maintain tracking and submission of all shows and events and related expenses. Continuously identify areas for efficiency and enhancements. Make recommendations for streamlining events, cost-savings, and stronger strategic alignment across functions

  • Ensure that all strategic events are executed in accordance with company policies and procedures

  • Conduct post-event analysis, sharing insights and identifying opportunities to improve year over year

  • Collaborate with Segment and Worldwide Marketing teams to prepare for product launches, ensuring rapid adoption of new and existing solutions

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experienced in working with C-Suite leadership

  • Is a creative problem-solver who has strong project management capabilities, facilities and service skills, finance and contract management and logistics experience

  • Can deliver on tight deadlines, on budget

  • Is highly adaptable

  • Has strong executive presence and can work in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of event planning experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, logistical planning and execution skills are essential

  • Strong project management and strategic thinking skills

  • High ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • High level of initiative and self-starter

  • Positive and collaborative team player

  • Experience building relationships and working directly with C-suite and senior business partners

  • Sourcing and booking venues, procuring and liaising with vendors and suppliers and negotiating quotes, contracts, and agreements

  • Handling logistics and on-site crew and event management

  • Budgeting and invoicing as well as solutioning and reporting event metrics

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in event planning, hospitality, marketing, or related areas.

  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP).

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid or remote work environment with regular virtual collaboration

  • Travel required (up to 50%) to support conferences, launches, and key meetings

Compensation

The expected compensation range for this role is $105,100.00 - 168,100.00 USD Annual, Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
