What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Golf Course Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Golf Course Designer, you need expertise in landscape architecture, golf course design principles, and a degree in landscape architecture or a related field. Proficiency with CAD software, GIS tools, and 3D modeling programs, as well as familiarity with environmental and zoning regulations, is typically required. These skills ensure the creation of functional, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable golf courses that meet client needs and regulatory standards.

What are some common challenges faced by remote golf course designers, and how can they overcome them?

Remote golf course designers often face challenges such as limited on-site access and communication barriers with local stakeholders. To overcome these, designers rely heavily on advanced digital tools, like GIS mapping and 3D modeling software, to visualize and plan layouts accurately. Regular virtual meetings with clients, engineers, and construction teams are essential to ensure alignment and address any issues promptly. Building strong relationships with local contacts and scheduling periodic site visits can also help mitigate the limitations of working remotely.

1099 or C2C Contract Details (No W2)

This role is structured for experienced freelancers and independent contractors. W2 employment is not available for this engagement.

  • 6-month contract (strong likelihood of extension)
  • 100% Remote (U.S. or Canadian candidates only)
  • Start date: May 2026
  • 40 hours per week
  • $55-$65/hour (C2C or 1099), based on experience
  • Standard U.S. business hours (EST/CST/MST/PST)
  • Heavy Slack collaboration
  • Laptop provided
  • Portfolio REQUIRED
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Instructional Designer who is a hands-on builder—someone who thrives in a high-velocity, production-driven environment and designs modern, learner-centered experiences that drive measurable impact. In this role, you will design and build end-to-end learning journeys (not standalone courses) that transform complex FinTech/SaaS workflows into intuitive, engaging, and scalable solutions. Your work will span new builds and enhancements, with a focus on scenario-based learning, simulations, persona-driven microlearning, gamification, and framework-driven design. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Instructional Designers, Developers, Learning Program Managers, SMEs, and Product and Technical partners—bringing structure, creativity, and momentum to fast-moving, often ambiguous environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build end-to-end learning journeys aligned to real-world workflows and learner performance outcomes.
  • Create clear, structured storyboards and learning flows that support scalable development.
  • Modernize legacy content into dynamic, visually engaging, and learner-first experiences.
  • Establish and contribute to scalable design systems, frameworks, and reusable content models.
  • Design and build interactive, learner-centered facilitator-led experiences, including participant resources and facilitation playbooks.
  • Develop persona-based microlearning, simulations, and gamified experiences that increase engagement and retention.
  • Integrate video, animation, and multimedia elements to create cohesive, high-quality learning experience.
  • Optimize existing templates for strong learner flow and engagement (no out-of-the-box builds).
  • Ensure Docebo LMS compliance, completion tracking, and QA rigor.
  • Use AI tools (Gemini, Notebook LM) to accelerate development, prototyping, and iteration.
  • Partner closely with SMEs to align learning with business outcomes and performance metrics.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining speed, quality, and meeting deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Excel at working within an SLA-driven environment.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of hands-on instructional design and development experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end learning journeys, scenario-based design, and measurable learner impact. Years matter less than the quality and velocity of your work.
  • Builds confidently and quickly in Articulate 360 (Storyline), Rise, Synthesia, and 7Taps, with familiarity in Figma or similar tools for rapid prototyping and storyboarding.
  • Experience creating interactive, facilitator-led and live virtual learning experiences that are engaging, scalable, and outcome-driven.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality work quickly in high-volume environments.
  • Strong experience translating complex systems into performance-based learning.
  • Experience designing for customer-facing teams or product training.
  • Demonstrated impact on learner engagement, adoption and performance outcomes (NPS, completion, etc.).
  • Experience building scalable, reusable content and frameworks.
  • Strong foundation in learning science (cognitive load, Bloom’s, etc.).
  • Experience working in Agile or fast-paced environments.

Why This Role?

  • Enjoy turning complex product knowledge into simple, engaging learning experiences.
  • Experience with high-impact FinTech / SaaS enterprise product training.
  • Like blending strategy + hands-on design.
  • Thrive in a fast-moving, modern learning environment.
  • Strong focus on innovation, speed, and quality.
  • Are comfortable working in ambiguity and bringing structure to evolving needs.
  • AI-powered tools and workflows.
  • Care deeply about learner experience, adoption, and usability.

We’re looking for someone who can:
Design learning experiences, not just content.
Build quickly using modern tools and AI.
Drive measurable impact through engagement and performance.
