Job description

Job Title: EHR Application Analyst
Department: PFS Applications
Location: Riedman - Remote
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule:Full-Time, Day Shift, Monday to Friday, (8 am -4:00 pm)
POSITION SUMMARY
The EHR Application Analyst supports the development, implementation and ongoing functionality of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. The Application Analyst develops proficiency in EHR system capabilities and applies knowledge of healthcare business workflows to configure and support applications that meet organizational needs. This role serves as a frontline resource for end-users and contributes to optimizing clinical and operational processes through effective system support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
System Support and Maintenance:
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and resolving system errors to ensure uninterrupted use of the EHR system.
  • Log, track, and manage support requests in the service management system, ensuring timely documentation and resolution.
  • Recognize when issues require escalation and engage appropriate resources in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patches, and upgrades, to ensure the stability and security of the EHR system.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support coverage for critical system issues.
  • Participate in testing and validation activities for system changes, enhancements, and upgrades, following established change management processes to ensure new features and configurations meet functional requirements without introducing unintended disruptions.
  • Participate as a team member on EHR implementation projects, system upgrades, and other initiatives, completing assigned tasks on time and communicating status to project leads.

Configuration and Customization:
  • Assist in configuring and customizing the EHR system to meet the specific needs and workflows of healthcare providers, implementing operationally approved optimizations.
  • Document build decisions and configuration changes to support consistency and future maintenance.

Collaboration and Vendor Engagement:
  • Participate in workflow discovery sessions and cross-functional project teams to support EHR initiatives.
  • Participate as a team member on EHR implementation projects, system upgrades, and other initiatives, completing assigned tasks on time and communicating status to project leads.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of end-user training materials and sessions.
  • Support go-live activations and provide at-the-elbow assistance to staff during system transitions.
  • Engage with EHR vendor support (e.g., submitting support requests, monitoring release notes, attending user group sessions) to stay current on system capabilities and resolve issues efficiently.

Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, user procedures, and support issues, contributing to a knowledge base that facilitates efficient problem-solving and knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Develops/Maintains Strong Business Relationships:
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with clinical and operational stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, revenue cycle staff, health information management, and facility leadership.

Compliance and Data Privacy:
  • Handle all protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational data privacy and security policies.
  • Complete required compliance training and adhere to information security standards in all aspects of the role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent analytical, organization, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Ability to solve problems and respond effectively to customer needs.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare workflows, terminology, and business process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 or equivalent productivity tools.
  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, healthcare or related field.
  • 1 year of applicable IT or relevant healthcare experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in an Information Technology, Healthcare Information Systems, Clinical Informatics, EHR Support, or related role with responsibilities that included application support, system implementation, workflow analysis, system testing, configuration, training, or end-user support.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Epic certifications required within six months of hire.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
