Duties
Help

• You will design, modify and operate various test rigs and equipment, to meet the test requirements
  of ALRE and Visual Landing Aid systems and components being developed by scientific and engineering personnel.
• You will perform hydrostatic and operational cycle tests of experimental, new or modified components for ALRE systems.
• You will utilize a variety of skills and personal initiative to overcome any deficiencies in design, availability of material and the operation of test devices to obtain specified results.
• You will fabricate various electrical parts, using various materials of appropriate conducting, resisting or insulating properties.

• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Demonstrating expert proficiency in independently reading and interpreting building plans, complex wiring diagrams, and engineering blueprints to plan, lay out, and balance industrial multiphase electrical loads. 2) Utilizing electrical test equipment-including meggers, ammeters, multimeters, and circuit tracers-to troubleshoot and isolate hard-to-locate systemic electrical defects. 3) Demonstrating capability in the precise measurement, cutting, threading, and bending of conduit, alongside the splicing, soldering, and termination of diverse wire gauges. 4) Maintaining strict adherence to National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, industrial safety protocols, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when working with secondary power distribution systems and high-amperage circuits.
