We are looking for a Marketplace Operations Manager to join our Product Team. This individual will report into our Senior Manager, Category Management and will be responsible for the day-to-day operational health of SupplyHouse's third-party marketplace channel. This role ensures that marketplace performance is continuously monitored, supplier onboarding is executed efficiently, and catalog and listing quality standards are upheld. This remote position is open to individuals who live in, or are open to relocating to, the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
This position requires travel to our headquarters in Melville, NY 3 times per year for internal meetings and team building activities. We reimburse reasonable and necessary travel expenses, and you're also welcome to work on-site anytime beyond these visits - our doors are always open.
Role Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Remote
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with time zone flexibility
Base Salary: $92,940 - $116,175 per year
Responsibilities:
  • Proactively research and identify new marketplace supplier candidates across target categories, using competitive analysis, industry resources, and internal category gaps as inputs
  • Conduct initial outreach to prospective suppliers, articulate SupplyHouse's marketplace value proposition, and manage the early-stage relationship through qualification
  • Coordinate with Category Management to prioritize and schedule new supplier conversations, ensuring alignment with category strategy before advancing candidates
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding process for approved suppliers, including agreement coordination, contract administration, data requirements communication, and timeline management
  • Lead technical feed setup and validation for new suppliers-mapping product data, verifying feed accuracy, and resolving data quality issues prior to go-live
  • Train new suppliers on SupplyHouse's systems, data standards, and operational requirements, ensuring they are set up for long-term success on the platform
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new suppliers through the onboarding period, troubleshooting issues and maintaining momentum to hit go-live milestones
  • Document onboarding processes and maintain SOPs to ensure consistent, repeatable execution as the supplier base grows
  • Develop and maintain claims, warranty, and returns processes for marketplace suppliers, ensuring clear guidelines and consistent execution across the supplier base
  • Monitor post-launch supplier performance and flag issues with service levels, data quality, or accounting discrepancies for resolution
  • Review weekly feeds for new item suggestions and coordinate with Category Management on additions
  • Research competitor listings to identify opportunities for improvement in content, imagery, and positioning
  • Conduct image audits and data cleanup including attribute and filter updates on new brand
  • Own SOP creation and ongoing maintenance for marketplace operational workflows
  • Test and document new marketplace features and platform capabilities within the supplier dashboards
  • Execute ad hoc operational projects including data cleanup, content audits, and cross-system reconciliation
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Pricing, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues and support execution
  • Respond to basic marketplace customer inquiries escalated from Customer Service or order fulfillment, and review processed returns to identify trends
  • Reconcile discrepancies between freight and non-freight shipping methods and partner with Product Catalog to update item dimensions as needed
  • Monitor out-of-stock items and communicate gaps to the Merchandising team; support price update processes to maintain alignment between SupplyHouse and supplier pricing

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketplace operations, e-commerce merchandising, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and inventory data and translate findings into action
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working across multiple data systems and reporting tools
  • Experience managing supplier or vendor relationships in an operational capacity
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and shifting priorities
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to document processes and create SOPs in a structured, repeatable format

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with marketplace platforms (e.g., Amazon, Home Depot, Walmart, or similar) or B2B e-commerce environments
  • Familiarity with product feed management, catalog systems, or MDM tools
  • Experience in plumbing, HVAC, or trade supply distribution is a plus
