Job description

We are seeking a highly accomplished Grant Writer / Government Contracting Specialist with a proven track record of securing at least $100,000 in awarded contracts and a minimum of 10 years of experience in federal, state, or local government contracting. Preference will be given to retired government officers who possess deep insider knowledge of procurement processes, compliance requirements, and agency operations.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position with flexible, remote work arrangements. You will play a critical role in identifying funding opportunities, preparing winning proposals, and guiding our organization through complex government contracting landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and identify high-value grant and contract opportunities across federal, state, and local levels.
  • Prepare compliant, compelling proposals, bids, and capability statements.
  • Oversee the full proposal lifecycle: RFP review, compliance checks, technical writing, cost proposal preparation, and submission.
  • Advise on strategic positioning to win set-aside and competitive contracts.
  • Utilize SAM.gov, Grants.gov, FPDS, and other platforms to track opportunities.
  • Provide expert insights on procurement regulations, FAR/DFARS compliance, and agency-specific protocols.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in government contracting or grant writing.
  • Successful track record of winning contracts totaling at least $100,000.
  • Retired government officer background strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional writing, research, and negotiation skills.
