What does a remote fraud consultant do?

A Remote Fraud Consultant is a professional who analyzes transactions, systems, and behaviors to identify and prevent fraudulent activities for businesses or financial institutions. They work remotely, using specialized software and data analytics to detect suspicious patterns, investigate potential fraud cases, and recommend strategies to mitigate risk. Their role often involves collaborating with compliance teams, providing training, and staying updated on the latest fraud trends to enhance security protocols.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote fraud consultant?

To excel as a Remote Fraud Consultant, you need strong analytical skills, a background in finance or criminology, and experience with fraud investigation, often supported by certifications such as CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner). Familiarity with fraud detection software, data analysis tools, and case management systems is critical for daily operations. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are essential soft skills for assessing risks and collaborating remotely with clients or teams. These skills and qualifications are vital to accurately identify fraudulent activities, recommend preventative measures, and protect organizations from financial loss.

How does a remote fraud consultant typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex fraud cases?

As a Remote Fraud Consultant, you'll regularly work alongside teams such as compliance, IT, customer service, and legal to investigate and resolve complex fraud cases. Effective collaboration often involves virtual meetings, sharing detailed case findings, and jointly developing strategies to prevent future incidents. Your expertise will be crucial in providing insights on emerging fraud trends and recommending improvements to policies or systems. Strong communication skills and adaptability to remote collaboration tools are key to ensuring seamless teamwork and successful case resolution.

Job description

At Pindrop, we recognize the human voice as a uniquely personal identifier, central to safeguarding identity in a world filled with sophisticated fraud, including the threats of deepfakes. We're leading the way in authentication, fraud prevention, and voice-based trust solutions-helping enterprises create secure, seamless digital experiences. Here, you'll be part of a dynamic, supportive team driven by Innovation, Customer Advocacy, Excellence, and Impact. Your expertise will fortify trust for our clients while building a more secure digital world.

Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, Pindrop is backed by world-class investors such as Andreessen-Horowitz, IVP, and CapitalG.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Pindrop's most strategic customers, delivering expert technical and business guidance through all phases of solution lifecycle-from discovery and implementation to optimization and ongoing value realization.
  • Lead complex client engagements: assess needs, define solutions, and drive successful outcomes that maximize customer value from Pindrop's platform.
  • Conduct workshops, technical assessments, and executive briefings on best practices for authentication, fraud prevention, and voice biometrics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to ensure alignment and a seamless customer experience.
  • Analyze client business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend solutions that enable operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
  • Guide customer teams through complex integrations and change management, resolving technical issues and ensuring adoption of Pindrop solutions.
  • Develop and maintain thought leadership-authoring white papers, case studies, and reusable best practice resources for both customers and internal teams.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and consulting excellence.
Who You Are
  • You are a relationship-driven consultant with deep expertise in enterprise technology, financial services, SaaS, risk management, and transformative customer engagement.
  • You thrive on solving complex problems at the intersection of people, process, and technology.
  • You are resourceful, highly AI fluent, proactive, and communicate value with clarity to executive and technical audiences alike.
  • You build quick trust through case analysis and persistent follow-up while inspiring confidence and driving high-impact results for customers.
  • You are resilient in the face of challenges, change, and ambiguity.
  • You are optimistic, seeing every challenge as an opportunity to learn and innovate.
  • You take accountability, do what you say you'll do, under-promise and over-deliver.
  • You remain nimble, adaptable, and focused on the bigger picture when business priorities evolve.
Your Skillset
  • 7+ years of consulting, technical account management, solution delivery, or customer-facing technical roles in SaaS, cloud, security, or fintech environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex client engagements and solve challenging business/technical problems.
  • Expertise in enterprise architecture, authentication, fraud risk, or voice-driven technologies.
  • Outstanding client relationship skills and comfort presenting to C-level/executive stakeholders.
  • Experience with contact center technology, voice biometrics, or security solution integration.
  • Management consulting background or work in high-growth technology environments.
  • Technical certifications (AWS, security, networking) or advanced degree.
  • Background producing thought leadership content (whitepapers, best practices).

As a Senior Consultant at Pindrop, you'll help the world's most security-conscious organizations realize the full value of voice-based authentication and fraud prevention. Your impact will be visible in customer success, lasting relationships, and influence on the evolution of voice security. You'll collaborate with top talent in technology and consulting, drive transformative projects, and shape industry best practices-all while growing your own expertise and career in a cutting-edge space.
