This full-time, remote role offers the opportunity to work closely with individuals grappling with eating disorders, utilizing your skills as a licensed professional in Social Work (LCSW), Professional Counseling (LPC), or Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT). Work Environment

This position is based in a remote setting, providing flexibility while ensuring that you maintain a high level of engagement with clients through virtual sessions. Regular business hours are maintained from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, allowing for a stable work-life balance. As part of our outpatient office, you will be collaborating with a diverse team of professionals who value mental health and strive for excellence in therapeutic practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' eating disorder symptoms along with any co-occurring mental health issues, tailoring your approach to meet each individual's needs.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans rooted in assessment insights, collaborating with clients to establish realistic and achievable recovery goals.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to combat distorted beliefs about body image, food, and self-worth.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy sessions focused on fostering healthy coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, and methods to resist disordered eating behaviors.
  • Work closely with the treatment team to coordinate care, ensuring continuity and addressing the holistic needs of each client.
  • Provide psychoeducation for clients and their families, enhancing understanding of eating disorders to create a supportive recovery environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of clients' progress, treatment strategies, and session details in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and professional development activities to continually improve your clinical skills and stay updated on the latest treatment methodologies for eating disorders.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on clients experiencing a variety of eating disorders, which require sensitive and informed approaches. Our clientele often includes individuals facing multifaceted challenges involving body image, self-esteem issues, and significantly disruptive eating patterns. Your role will be crucial in creating a safe space for clients to explore their experiences, fostering a sense of trust and progression on their recovery journey.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of a current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Virginia.
  • Proven proficiency in delivering evidence-based therapies specifically for eating disorders, including extensive experience with CBT, DBT, and ACT.
  • In-depth understanding of the complexities surrounding eating disorders and related co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to build rapport and establish trust with a diverse client base.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience providing therapeutic services in a clinical setting.
