Gotham Enterprises Ltd is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to become a vital member of our community health clinic, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. This full-time remote position allows you to impact individuals' lives positively while working alongside a team of mental health professionals committed to recovery and wellness.

Work Environment

This remote role provides the flexibility to work from home while being an integral part of our outpatient team. Regular business hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. You will collaborate with colleagues through virtual meetings and digital platforms, ensuring connection and communication within our practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of client symptoms related to eating disorders, identifying co-occurring mental health issues to tailor treatment effectively.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, setting achievable recovery goals that are informed by assessments.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), catering specifically to each client’s needs.
  • Lead therapy sessions aimed at dismantling clients' negative beliefs about body image, food, and self-esteem, fostering a positive self-view.
  • Equip clients with healthy coping strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and tools to combat disordered eating behaviors effectively.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care, addressing the holistic needs of clients.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families, enhancing their understanding of eating disorders and creating a nurturing recovery environment.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of clients’ progress and treatment sessions to comply with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development activities that focus on advanced treatment approaches for eating disorders.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role centers around clients struggling with a range of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. You will engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds, each carrying their unique stories and challenges in their recovery journeys. Your expertise will empower these clients to develop healthier relationships with food, body image, and themselves.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT within Virginia.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of evidence-based therapeutic modalities specifically for treating eating disorders, such as CBT, DBT, and ACT.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the complex interplay between eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to build rapport and ensure a trusting therapeutic relationship with clients.
Preferred Experience

We prefer candidates with at least two years of experience working specifically in eating disorder treatment, providing a proven track record of effective therapy and client engagement. Experience in a clinical setting that emphasizes evidence-based practices will be advantageous.
