What is a Remote Food job?

A Remote Food job involves working in the food industry while operating from a remote location, such as a home office or co-working space. These jobs can include roles like food writers, nutrition consultants, menu planners, remote chefs, and customer support for food delivery services. Many businesses in the food sector now offer remote positions for tasks like marketing, business development, and online culinary education. While some roles may require occasional on-site visits, most tasks can be completed using digital tools.

What are the common challenges faced while working in a remote food industry role?

Working in a remote food-related position often means adapting to virtual communication, which can present challenges in clearly conveying ideas or instructions related to food or service. Staying connected with clients, teammates, or partners in different time zones can also require flexibility and strong organizational skills. Additionally, maintaining a deep understanding of current food trends or operational best practices may take extra effort since you aren’t physically present in restaurants, kitchens, or production facilities. Addressing these challenges often involves proactive communication, ongoing professional development, and effective time management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Food position, and why are they important?

Remote food-related roles, such as remote food writers, consultants, or customer service representatives, require strong communication skills, deep industry knowledge, and relevant experience in food and hospitality. Familiarity with digital collaboration tools, content management systems, and sometimes nutrition or food safety certifications can be beneficial. Resourcefulness, attention to detail, and self-motivation enable professionals to manage tasks independently and adjust to virtual teamwork. These abilities ensure high-quality work and efficient collaboration in a remote, food-focused environment.

Position Title: Remote Wholesale Sales Manager
Are you an experienced ingredient sales professional with an established network and a passion for building business? We are seeking a Wholesale Sales Manager to drive new revenue by selling bulk raw ingredients to manufacturers across the United States. This is a highly autonomous, remote role where you'll own the entire sales cycle, leverage your existing industry relationships, and help expand market share with leading food, nutraceutical, and dietary supplement manufacturers. This opportunity is ideal for a self-motivated sales hunter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, can generate revenue quickly, and has a proven track record of developing long-term customer relationships within the raw ingredients industry.
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000 Base + Uncapped Commission (1.5%)
Remote Wholesale Sales Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop new business opportunities by selling bulk raw ingredients to manufacturers, contract manufacturers, and nutraceutical companies
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, quoting, negotiating, and closing new business
  • Leverage an existing book of business and industry relationships to generate immediate revenue
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with purchasing managers, sourcing managers, procurement teams, and other key decision-makers
  • Expand existing accounts while identifying new opportunities within target markets
  • Coordinate with operations, logistics, accounting, and supply chain teams to ensure successful order fulfillment
  • Manage customer communications throughout the sales process, including order updates and follow-up
  • Track sales activity, orders, and commissions using internal systems and reporting tools
  • Attend industry trade shows and customer meetings as needed to strengthen business relationships
  • Consistently achieve revenue goals while operating independently with minimal oversight

Remote Wholesale Sales Manager Requirements:
  • 3+ years of B2B sales experience within raw ingredients, nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, food ingredients, or a closely related industry
  • Existing book of business and established relationships with manufacturers, contract manufacturers (CMOs), ingredient buyers, distributors, and purchasing professionals
  • Ability to ramp quickly and generate revenue with minimal training, including a goal of $100K+ in sales within the first 90 days
  • Proven history of generating $1M+ in annual sales or managing high-volume ingredient accounts
  • Demonstrated ability to build a pipeline, source prospects, and close business independently
  • Experience negotiating pricing and managing large-volume ingredient sales
  • Strong understanding of the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, or food ingredient manufacturing industry
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills
  • U.S. work authorization

Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission
  • Fully remote position with flexible scheduling
  • Comprehensive medical coverage for California-based employees beginning on day one, 100% employer paid
  • Monthly healthcare stipend for out-of-state employees
  • 401(k) with a 4% company match after one year
  • PTO 8-10 days
  • 5-6 days of paid sick time
  • Mileage reimbursement for business travel
  • Annual team events
  • Healthcare stipend available for eligible out-of-state contractors
  • Strong operational, logistics, and accounting support to help maximize selling time
  • Access to an extensive inventory and established infrastructure to support customer needs
  • Opportunity to grow earnings by expanding territory and increasing sales production

If you're a high-performing wholesale ingredient sales professional with the relationships, industry expertise, and drive to build significant revenue, apply today to take the next step in your career with an organization that rewards performance, autonomy, and results.
