DSN Scheduler -Fully Remote

POSITION IS FULLY REMOTE
KBR is seeking a Project Scheduler to perform overall scheduling of communications contacts with operational spacecraft missions through NASA's Deep Space Network (DSN) antennas.
The DSN Project Scheduler will interface on the projects behalf with all DSN Predicts, Service Scheduling Software (SSS) Admins, Schedule Process Owner (SPO) Office, etc.
***Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident***
Responsibilities:
  • Generate requirements using Request/Requirement & Control Language (R&CL) and events in SSS for initial schedule generation

  • Perform conflict resolution negotiation activities with all DSN users to maximize science data return

  • Maintain spacecraft support requirements, flight view periods and scheduling constraints and guidelines

  • Coordinate the delivery of accurate DSN view periods and other mission products needed for Resource Allocation Review (RAR) analysis

  • Assisting in the preparation of and coordinating the responses to proposals and project directed meetings

  • Prepare weekly scheduling status reports

  • Deliver plots, reports and schedule sorts as required

  • Maintain project interfaces with JPL as it pertains to scheduling

  • Operate (and test as needed) internet utilities, Common Allocation and Scheduling Tool (CAST), Service Preparation Subsystem (SPS), SSS and internally developed scripts

  • Participating in process improvement activities

Key Success Factors for a DNS Scheduler:
  • Demonstrate high level of skills including teamwork, speed, organization, and performance

  • Obtain high level cognizance of spacecraft support and operational requirements.

  • Obtain high level cognizance of DSN scheduling and station resources.

  • Become proficient with scheduling tools.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • BA/BS degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Background in computers and application software including UNIX.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or equivalent.

  • Technical writing skills, Effective interpersonal skills, Disciplined work ethic

  • Professionalism, Practical organizational skills, Team player

  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience & Skills:
  • 3 years of experience with network scheduling

  • Or 3 years related flight project experience

  • Experience with CAST, SPS and SSS

Basic Compensation:
  • Jobs on this contract range from $58,300 - $87,400

  • The offered rate will be based on the position, contract affordability, the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:
  • KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
