You will serve as a Training Specialist in the Plan, Policies, and Operations (Security), Provost Marshall Office/Marine Corps Police Department of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.

Duties
Help

• You will conduct lectures, discussions, guided conferences and demonstration methods to present law enforcement, investigative techniques, procedures and practical application sessions.
• You will provide classroom studies and instructions on use of law enforcement equipment and application of techniques.
• You will assist with organizing, scheduling and coordinating training courses that maximize individual competencies or maintain performance levels.
• You will develop Performance Objectives and Standards to aide in identifying training needs and requirements of each student; ensure the knowledge and skills are developed in current concepts and techniques in Law Enforcement and Security.
• Provide instruction in First Aid/CPR/AED, Emergency Vehicle Operation, Active Shooter and other law enforcement requirements; instruct in Firearms safety and conduct the Weapons Qualification; test for weapons proficiency.

• You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing instruction on law enforcement topics in areas such as law evidence, terrorism, laws of arrest, search and seizure, firearms training and qualifications, basic criminology, criminal investigative techniques, etc.; 2) Utilizing a variety of sophisticated police equipment and databases and weapons; 3) Assisting with developing lesson plans to meet training objectives; and 4) Communicating effectively orally and in writing.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

Additional information
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
