Job description

Part-Time Security Officer

Legends Global, the industry leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate, part-time opening in the Security Department at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, CA. Our business is event-based, and our labor needs vary widely from week to week and event to event. For this reason, all of our part-time positions are "as needed" and we cannot offer employees consistent schedules or a guaranteed number of hours per week.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all guests, employees, artists, vendors, and contractors.
  • Conduct bag checks and security screening.
  • Conduct credential/ticket checks for access controlled areas.
  • Patrol assigned interior/exterior areas of the venue as assigned.
  • Observe and report crowd behavior for suspicious activity and to identify any potential safety concerns.
  • Enforce venue policies, including but not limited to prohibited items and guest code of conduct.
  • Respond quickly to security, medical, operational, and customer service incidents.
  • Assist in de-escalating disruptive behavior using conflict resolution techniques.
  • Coordinate with leadership, law enforcement, EMS, and fire personnel when necessary.
  • Preserve incident scenes and collect evidence when appropriate.
  • Complete concise, detailed, fact-based incident reports when required.
  • Maintain familiarity with emergency response plans.
  • Assist with emergency evacuations and shelter-in-place procedures.
  • Monitor, maintain, and support orderly crowd movement during ingress, intermissions, and egress.
  • Conduct concise and professional radio communications.
  • Follow chain of command with all policies, procedures, incidents, and emergencies.
  • Work independently and as part of a team with fellow security officers, and with other venue departments.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Must possess and retain a current BSIS California Guard Card.
  • Ability to pass background screening.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and de-escalate incidents.
  • Ability to operate handheld radios and security equipment.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods (4-6 hours).
  • Ability to run or sprint to respond to escalated incidents and emergency situations.
  • Ability to climb stairs frequently and quickly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in an environment with large crowds, elevated noise levels, and flashing lights.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules based on the event calendar.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to work in varying weather/temperature conditions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
