SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer (MBSE Systems Modeler) to support the development, sustainment, and overhaul of shipboard radar systems. This position will play a critical role in utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools to develop comprehensive Systems Requirements Models and ensure adherence to rigorous Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processes. The selected candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align system designs with customer requirements and technical standards. Work is primarily remote, with frequent visits to the customer site at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division.

This is a unique opportunity for experienced systems engineers with strong expertise in MBSE using Cameo Systems Modeler to contribute to the cutting-edge development of radar technology.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development of Cameo Systems Model for Shipboard Radar Systems:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive Cameo Systems Requirements Models to support new design, sustainment, and overhaul of shipboard radar systems.
  • Leverage SysML in Cameo to create and manage models that define system architecture, interfaces, behaviors, and data flows critical to radar system performance and functionality.

SETR Process Documentation & Deliverables:

  • Execute tasks in alignment with the Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) process as outlined in the Radar Technologies Design and Development procedure (IPDM Doc #: 12255-8843-970008), IEEE 15288.1, IEEE 15288.2, and NAVSEA PEO IWS Technical Review Manual.
  • Develop and deliver required SETR documentation and artifacts, including Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Block Definition Diagrams (BDD), and Requirements Traceability Verification Matrix (RTVM).

Cross-Discipline Communication & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers, systems engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and cross-functional integration of requirements and solutions.
  • Facilitate and participate in reviews, providing insights, analysis, and suggestions to address potential risks and propose improvements.

Compliance with Standards and Technical Guidance:

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable processes and standards, including IEEE 15288.1, IEEE 15288.2, NAVSEA PEO IWS Technical Review Manual, and other relevant technical guidance.
  • Align MBSE practices with customer-specified processes and military standards to meet program and mission objectives.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with MBSE tools and frameworks, specifically hands-on experience with SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Knowledge and experience working with the SETR process for program management.
  • Familiarity with the development of SETR-associated documentation, including SEMP, TEMP, IMP, RTVM, and BDD.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and effective communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering concepts to support effective communication with technical teams.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret Clearance to start and a Secret Clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process if necessary.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong expertise as a moderate to heavy user of Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Understanding of shipboard radar systems and related radar technologies.
  • Existing knowledge of NAVSEA PEO IWS Technical Review Manual requirements.
