Location: Remote (occasional on-site filming if applicable)

Commitment: 5–10 hours per week | Minimum 3–month commitment

Job Description

The Videographer supports A Free Bird's Multimedia Department by capturing, editing, and producing high-quality video content that highlights the organization's programs, events, and the creative stories of the children we serve.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling through video who wants to build a strong portfolio while contributing to a meaningful mission.

You will work closely with editors, designers, and the Multimedia Department Manager to create engaging visual content for social media, campaigns, and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Film and produce video content for A Free Bird programs, events, and campaigns
  • Edit raw footage into polished short-form and long-form video content
  • Collaborate with the multimedia team to develop storytelling concepts
  • Incorporate music, graphics, text, and effects to enhance video quality
  • Ensure all video content aligns with brand guidelines and messaging
  • Organize and manage video files and project assets
  • Revise edits based on feedback from leadership or creative teams
  • Support creation of promotional and awareness-based video content

Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years of experience in videography, video editing, or content creation (academic, freelance, or volunteer experience accepted)
  • Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of framing, lighting, composition, and storytelling
  • Ability to edit engaging content for social media and digital platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment
  • Portfolio or sample work required (YouTube, reel, or project links accepted)
