About FanSided
FanSided is one of the fastest growing networks of fandom-focused sports, entertainment and lifestyle sites on the internet. FanSided consists of a thriving collection of more than 300 communities dedicated to bringing together fans to share their common passions.
FanSided is seeking an Associate Writer & Editor to produce and edit high-quality daily content for FanSided Entertainment, including breaking news, feature stories, evergreen articles, rankings, and other engaging editorial content. Working closely with the broader entertainment team, this role will contribute across multiple sites and verticals, covering topics such as streaming platforms, broadcast television, film, and major entertainment franchises. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of the entertainment landscape and current industry trends, with knowledge of and enthusiasm for major franchises.
In addition to content creation, this role will collaborate with our SEO team to help develop and execute content strategies designed to increase audience growth, search visibility, and reader engagement. The successful candidate will combine editorial excellence with a data-informed approach to content planning and performance optimization.
What You'll Do
  • Contribute to the daily publishing operation, writing and editing stories
  • Write and edit entertainment stories
  • Keep your pulse on trends by monitoring social media, competitor websites, and analytics tools
  • Surface fresh angles on current stories that captivate and engage a wide audience
  • Build stories with our in-house content management system (CMS)
  • Understand how to attract and grow digital audiences through SEO best practices and social media
  • Collaborate on content strategy and calendar creation for optimized coverage

The expected salary range for this position is between $45,000 and $50,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location. The benefits available for this position include flexible vacation policy, 15 paid holidays, paid parental leave, health insurance, 401(k) with company match.
