Is AI replacing video editors?

In video editing, the 80/20 rule suggests that roughly 80% of the final product comes from 20% of the editing effort, emphasizing the importance of focusing on key scenes and essential adjustments. Film editors are in demand across the entertainment industry, including film, television, and digital media, as content production continues to grow. Skilled editors proficient in editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro are sought after, especially for freelance or part-time roles that require strong technical and storytelling skills.

How much do film editors make hourly?

Film editors typically earn between $20 and $50 per hour, depending on experience, project complexity, and whether they work freelance or full-time. Entry-level editors may start at lower rates, while experienced professionals with specialized skills or working on high-budget projects can earn higher wages. Many film editors also work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines.
