What is an audio creative?

Audio Creatives are professionals who design, produce, and oversee audio content for various media, such as advertisements, podcasts, radio, video, and interactive experiences. They work with sound elements like music, voiceovers, sound effects, and audio branding to create engaging and effective messages. Audio Creatives often collaborate with clients, writers, and producers to ensure that audio content aligns with the intended mood, message, and audience. Their skills include audio editing, sound design, mixing, and an understanding of storytelling through sound.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an audio creative, and why are they important?

To excel as an Audio Creative, you need a strong understanding of sound design, audio editing, and music theory, often supported by a relevant degree or proven portfolio. Proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools or Ableton Live, as well as knowledge of audio plugins and industry-standard recording equipment, is crucial. Creative thinking, collaboration, and attention to detail are vital soft skills for producing compelling audio content and working effectively with clients or teams. These skills and qualities are essential for delivering innovative, high-quality audio projects that meet client or audience expectations.

How does an audio creative typically collaborate with other departments during a project?

Audio Creatives frequently work closely with teams such as marketing, video production, and client services to ensure that audio elements align with the overall vision of a campaign or production. This collaboration can involve brainstorming sessions, feedback rounds, and regular check-ins to integrate sound design, voiceovers, and music seamlessly with visual and narrative elements. Being adaptable and responsive to feedback from non-audio specialists is a key part of the role, helping to deliver a cohesive final product that meets both creative and technical standards.

Job description

Apple TV's Marketing team crafts world-class campaigns that connect audiences with
high-quality stories, building brand awareness and loyalty. We drive innovation and
excellence from strategic vision to creative execution, collaborating across Apple, with
agencies, studios, and talent to place Apple TV at the heart of global culture.
Description
Apple is seeking an A/V Creative to lead Brand and Multi-Title A/V campaigns for Apple TV. This role is distinct from a Creative focused on title-specific marketing for individual Original Content releases - instead, you'll shape and elevate the Apple TV brand itself, crafting a unique voice that ties our entire slate of programming into one cohesive, premium service identity.
This is a creative role that focuses on service-level messaging. The ideal candidate has deep experience in entertainment brand marketing: understanding how to build brand equity, audience loyalty, and a distinct point of view for our streaming service overall, rather than promoting individual shows or films in isolation.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 7 years experience with brand creative campaign development, preferably in Entertainment (Series/Film)
Proven experience leading brand-defining campaigns
A sharp creative sensibility that translates diverse content into one coherent brand voice
A pulse on emerging trends across digital, experiential, and product brand marketing
Preferred Qualifications
Strong collaborative instincts and the ability to manage relationships across a large, cross-functional organization
Proven ability to build and direct high-quality A/V creative that meets Apple's standards
Collaborative, team-oriented approach with experience operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional organization
Experience managing a high volume of creative and campaign types in parallel
