Description
We are looking for a full-time paralegal for a small, but quickly expanding, civil litigation firm located in Lafayette, CA. Primary areas of practice include commercial litigation, real estate, employment law, and personal injury. Litigation paralegal experience required.
This position is a unique opportunity to gain valuable, first-hand legal experience while working directly under multiple attorneys. Looking for someone who is hard-working, organized, detail-oriented, and flexible. This position is remote.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation from intake through resolution
• Prepare administrative submissions, pleadings, motions, and filings in state and federal courts
• Draft and organize litigation documents and trial materials
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
• Manage document preservation and litigation hold processes
• Maintain organized and accurate electronic case files
• Track deadlines, court dates, statutes of limitation, and litigation calendars
• Prepare and respond to written discovery
• Organize and catalog evidence for hearings, arbitration, mediation, and trial
• Schedule depositions and summarize deposition testimony
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors
• Support attorneys with case strategy, preparation, and day-to-day litigation management
• Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Requirements:
• 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience
• Experience handling civil litigation matters in a law firm environment
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and deadlines
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple cases and shifting priorities independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
