Description
This position is fully remote, but candidates must be located in GA, AL, or near one of our following sites: Burlington, NC; Clinton, TN; or Port Huron, MI.
The Business Manager is responsible for driving commercial performance within Shawmut's Automotive division by leading core business processes in alignment with company standards. This role owns the delivery of accurate and timely costing and customer quotations, sales forecasts, ensuring disciplined execution, data integrity, and alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of the company's goals and growth.
Key Systems & Tools:
The Business Manager is responsible for effectively leveraging and managing the following systems:
  • Monday.com - Project / Task tracking and cross-functional coordination
  • OTAPS (new system) - Forecasting & Budget, Quoting
  • CMS (current system) - Quoting
  • Power BI - Data analysis and performance tracking

Core Responsibilities:
  • Own and manage the end-to-end quoting process for both sample and production quotations
  • Ensure receipt of Sample PO and hand over to Program Management for sample production
  • Serve as the primary internal point of contact for assigned customer accounts
  • Lead contract review processes, including evaluation of award letters, purchase orders, terms & conditions, and other customer documentation in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Ensure handover of approved program documentation to Program Management
  • Develop and maintain detailed cost breakdowns whenever required
  • Manage communication with the customer to clarify RFQ information
  • Participate in customer meetings and events when required
  • Lead the forecasting and budgeting process by consolidating input from Key Account Managers and ensuring accurate system updates (pricing, volumes, SOP/EOP, commercial status etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Supply Chain, and other cross functional departments to meet customer delivery and quality expectations
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) using Power BI
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as required

Processes Owned by the Business Manager:
  • Quoting Process, both Sample quoting and Production quoting
  • Contract Review
  • Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Sales reporting and KPI tracking via Power BI (e.g. New Booked Business)
  • Bonus tracking
  • Project/task tracking through Monday.com for owned processes
  • Customer Onboarding
  • Data integrity and maintenance within CMS / OTAPS

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or sales operations preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Experience working with OEMs or Tier suppliers is strongly preferred
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and drive decisions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in process and data management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach
  • Strong organizational and process management capabilities
  • Sense of urgency and prioritization to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Awareness of need for escalation
