Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Business Analyst, Trade Compliance Systems Analyst  to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in analyzing, designing, and implementing IT solutions that support global trade operations. This position requires a strong understanding of global trade processes, IT systems, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of technology solutions that align with business objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with global trade teams, IT teams, and external partners to gather and document business requirements.
  • Analyze current processes and systems to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
  • Design IT solutions to support global trade operations, including customs compliance, import/export processes, and trade finance.
  • Ensure solutions align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects related to global trade.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to gather input and validate solutions.
  • Ensure IT solutions comply with international trade regulations and standards.
  • Identify potential risks and work with teams to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure IT solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and resolve issues as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
  • Create detailed documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user guides.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior management on project status, risks, and issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in IT business analysis. 
  • Hands-on experience supporting global trade operations within an IT context.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience working with ERP systems and global trade management software.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with global trade systems such as Descartes OCR EASE or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of data analysis, reporting tools, and process modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and import/export processes.
  • PMP, CBAP, ITIL, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with trade finance, supply chain operations, and logistics processes.
  • Experience with data integration, APIs, and system interfaces.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and technologies.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is US$96,000.00 MIN - US$178,000.00 MAX. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is US$75,500.00 MIN - US$140,000.00 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
