Job Summary

PC Diesel Repair Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our growing mobile service team. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and diesel-powered machinery including Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, and other major brands.

This is a field-based position, requiring travel to customer job sites. The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment including:
  • Excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, and cranes
  • Diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and aftertreatment systems (DPF/DEF/EGR) ETC.
  • Perform inspections, and DOT checks
  • Troubleshoot complex issues using diagnostic software and manual testing procedures
  • Perform repairs including:
  • Engine repairs and overhauls
  • Hydraulic component replacement and troubleshooting
  • Electrical diagnostics and wiring repairs
  • Brake systems, drivetrain, and cooling systems
  • Complete detailed service reports and communicate findings with customers
  • Order and source parts as needed (OEM and aftermarket)
  • Maintain a clean and organized service truck
  • Follow all safety procedures and job site requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years experience working on heavy equipment or diesel trucks
  • Strong knowledge of brands such as CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, Case, etc.
  • Experience with:
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Electrical diagnostics
  • Engine and aftertreatment systems
  • Ability to read schematics and service manuals
  • Must have own tools (specialty tools are a plus)
  • Valid driver’s license (clean driving record preferred)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and occasional weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAT ET, John Deere Service Advisor, or similar diagnostic software
  • CDL (not required but a plus)
  • Field service / mobile mechanic experience

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Typical schedule: 3-4 day work week or flexible schedule (based on workload)
  • Must be available for extended hours and emergency calls when needed

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35 – $50+ per hour (based on experience)
