Work Environment

This position offers a fully remote work setting, enabling you to conduct therapy sessions and assessments from the comfort of your home. Our virtual platform supports a collaborative environment, where you will have the opportunity to engage with fellow professionals, share insights, and participate in case discussions while ensuring the highest levels of patient care. With operating hours typically between Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, there may be some flexibility required to meet the needs of your patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate the unique trauma histories and mental health needs of each patient.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience, and skill-building tailored to each patient's journey.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate effective healing.
  • Conduct both individual and group therapy sessions, promoting a safe space for patients to process their experiences and develop coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other integrated care professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient treatment and support.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support when addressing trauma-related emergencies or acute patient needs.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and effective coping strategies while guiding them towards available resources.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records in compliance with ethical and legal standards using our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Actively participate in team discussions, case consultations, and professional development activities that enhance trauma-informed care practices within the facility.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in trauma therapy through continuous education and research engagement.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily involve working with individuals who have experienced traumatic events, including those diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. By utilizing trauma-informed approaches, you will empower patients to navigate their healing journeys, ensuring they receive empathetic care tailored to their specific needs.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) within the state of Georgia.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and trauma-related disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach.
Preferred Experience
  • Two or more years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, specifically in trauma-focused therapies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in telehealth practices.
