Senior Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE:

HiddenLayer is entering an exciting new chapter in our company history, and we are seeking a Senior Accountant to help build a scalable, technology-driven finance function that supports our continued growth. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while also thinking strategically about how processes, systems, and automation can make finance more efficient. Reporting directly to the Controller, you'll have broad exposure across accounting, finance, systems, and business operations while helping scale the finance function of a high-growth AI cybersecurity company.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Play a key role in the monthly financial close by preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Own accounts payable and vendor payment processing, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment runs 
  • Assist with customer billing and accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections follow-up, and cash application
  • Partner with Finance leaders on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and other financial planning initiatives.
  • Support day-to-day accounting operations while maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to automate accounting workflows and improve operational efficiency through technology, AI, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Sales, Operations, and Customer Success to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
  • Support external audits, compliance activities, and other special projects as HiddenLayer continues to scale.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
  • 3-5+ years of finance or accounting experience.
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • Public accounting experience (Big Four or national/regional public accounting firm) is highly valued.
  • Experience in a SaaS, software, or high-growth technology company is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Experience supporting month-end close and preparing financial statements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and leveraging AI and automation to improve finance processes.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Salesforce, Maxio, or similar cloud-based financial systems is a plus.
