Position Overview

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our multicultural outpatient psychiatry office based in Glen Allen, Virginia. Work Environment

The position is primarily remote but integrated within a community health clinic that emphasizes collaboration between mental health professionals and integrates a variety of services. The typical work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility to meet the needs of our patients. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive mental health assessments to gain a holistic understanding of patient backgrounds, challenges, and treatment needs.
• Develop tailored treatment plans employing evidence-based therapeutic modalities that respect each patient's unique experiences and cultural context.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing mental health issues while promoting resilience and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure comprehensive care and treatment continuity.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and supportive counseling during mental health emergencies, ensuring patient safety and stability.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, therapeutic options, and available community resources, fostering informed decision-making.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in adherence with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Participate actively in case conferences, multidisciplinary team meetings, and training focused on enhancing cultural competency in client care.
• Stay updated on the latest research and best practices regarding mental health therapies and interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role is centered around serving individuals from varying backgrounds, particularly focusing on ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrants. You will be uniquely positioned to understand their specific mental health concerns and provide tailored interventions that foster inclusiveness and cultural relevance.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current, valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Virginia.
• Demonstrated understanding of diverse mental health disorders and established treatment approaches, along with a commitment to cultural competency.
• Experience in delivering therapy to individuals and groups, using inclusive practices that reflect an understanding of the population's cultural backgrounds.
• Strong crisis management skills with the ability to provide calm, stable support in challenging situations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building rapport with a diverse clientele.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in various computer applications related to clinical practice.
• A steadfast commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and a respect for patients' rights.
• A collaborative spirit to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience working in a clinical mental health setting, with a focus on serving diverse populations.
• Proven track record of implementing culturally sensitive interventions and therapeutic approaches.

Compensation and Benefits
