Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Planner to lead programming, planning, and operational analysis for healthcare projects. This role acts as a key liaison between healthcare clients, clinical staff, and design teams to ensure efficient, patient-centered, and code-compliant facility planning.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in healthcare workflows, facility programming, FGI guidelines, and occupied facility planning.
Key Responsibilities

  • ย Lead healthcare facility programming and space planning (hospitals, clinics, behavioral health, etc.)ย 
  • ย Conduct operational workflow analysis, site visits, and stakeholder interviewsย 
  • ย Develop functional space programs aligned with clinical needs and FGI guidelinesย 
  • ย Coordinate planning across SD, DD, CD, and CA phasesย 
  • ย Support infection control (ICRA) and occupied renovation planningย 
  • ย Facilitate user group meetings and client workshopsย 
  • ย Coordinate with architects, engineers, and medical equipment plannersย 
  • ย Translate clinical operations into functional design solutionsย 
  • ย Participate in healthcare RFPs, proposals, and presentationsย 
  • ย Support healthcare planning standards and internal knowledge developmentย 
Requirements
  • ย 5+ years healthcare planning, healthcare architecture, or clinical operations experienceย 
  • ย Strong knowledge of FGI Guidelines and healthcare regulationsย 
  • ย Experience with ICRA and occupied healthcare environmentsย 
  • ย Proficiency in Revit and AutoCADย 
  • ย Strong communication and stakeholder management skillsย 
  • ย Experience working with clinical teams and healthcare leadershipย 
Preferred Qualifications

  • ย EDAC certification (or in progress)ย 
  • ย ACHA membership (or pursuing)ย 
  • ย Experience in lean healthcare planning or patient flow optimizationย 
  • ย Experience with SF330 or healthcare proposalsย 
  • ย Experience with hospital systems or large healthcare facilitiesย 
Work Environment

Collaborative healthcare-focused design environment with interaction across architects, engineers, clinicians, and healthcare administrators. Includes office work, client meetings, facility walkthroughs, and site visits.
