Job description

Job Details
ChristianaCare, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare, is recruiting a BE/BC Neurologist for a one-of-a-kind fully remote role that puts you at the center of two high-impact care settings - without leaving your home.
As our Virtual Neurologist - Ambulatory & Consultative, you will spend half your shift as the patient-facing front door of our ambulatory neurology practice within two weeks of their call to neurology: conducting one-hour first-touch visits for new or urgent patients, ordering the right workup, and connecting them with the right subspecialist. The other half of your shift, you will provide inpatient neurology consultation at our 68-bed ChristianaCare Union Campus via a dedicated TeleDoc video cart, working up new consults and follow-ups and supporting the ED team.
This is a 7-on/7-off shift-based position with no stroke call and no EEG reading requirement. We welcome candidates with a background in general neurology, vascular neurology, neurohospitalist medicine, or ambulatory subspecialty neurology - the key is strong broad clinical skills and exceptional ability to connect with patients and colleagues in a virtual environment.
Why ChristianaCare?
  • Practice entirely from home on a predictable 7-on/7-off schedule - work-life balance by design.
  • Be part of Delaware's only Comprehensive Stroke Center, the state's only epilepsy monitoring unit, and a nationally recognized, 18-physician multispecialty neurology program
  • Access to full diagnostic capabilities: CT, MRI, EEG, EMG, and more
  • Remote video via On-site TeleDoc cart with liaison at Cecil Campus who handles all cart logistics - you focus on the patient
  • Competitive base salary with shift-based structure and sign-on bonus
  • Generous CME allowance and paid time off
  • 403(b) with company match, 457(b) and Defined Contribution plans
  • Fully paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave
  • Robust employee wellness program
What You'll Do
Ambulatory - First Touch Clinic (approx. 50% of shift)
  • See new or urgent ambulatory neurology patients via telemedicine - targeting access within 2 weeks of patient contact
  • Conduct one-hour comprehensive visits: full history, virtual exam, clinical impression, and diagnostic plan
  • Order appropriate imaging and testing to prepare patients for subspecialty referral
  • Triage and route to the right neurologist or care pathway if follow up is needed
  • Be the kind of physician patients remember - warm, clear, and confident from the first visit.
  • Develop trust with primary care clinicians by providing clear documentation and reporting
Inpatient Consultative - ChristianaCare Union Campus (approx. 50% of shift)
  • Provide neurology consultation at ChristianaCare Union Campus via TeleDoc video cart
  • Average of 2-3 new consults and 2-3 follow-ups per shift
  • Respond to neurology questions from the Cecil Emergency Department
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and proactively to the primary team
Qualifications
  • MD, DO, or equivalent
  • BE/BC in Neurology (ABPN)
  • Strong general neurology clinical skills across both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Comfortable with inpatient neurological workup and virtual examination technique
  • Telemedicine experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Must be able to obtain licensure in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland
