Overview

The Medical Informatics Specialist assumes responsibility for Health Informatics & Technology (HIT) education activities as directed by their manager. These activities include traveling to various locations training end users on how to use the EMR and other healthcare related software. Travel between CM locations can be up to 50% for this position. Synthesizing knowledge of computer systems, the Specialist collaboratively plans, implements, and evaluates Health Informatics systems and supports end-users. Serves as a facilitator in assessing learning needs and in planning, implementing, and evaluating the training and support required for safe and efficient use of health information technology.

Responsibilities

- Demonstrates competency related to work processes and information systems including tools which enable clinical end-user to provide safe, high quality patient care.- Coordinates end-user involvement in the integration of clinical work and information systems and tools, acting as a liaison and consultant.- Implementation of strategies to assure that clinical end-users remain competent in the use of information systems and tools.- Provides comprehensive management and development of the information systems education and training programs.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years experience in a systems analyst role and/or as an informatics specialist in a clinical area with computer knowledge.- EPIC experience preferred- Epic Certified Principal Trainer Preferred

- EPIC certification is required or obtained within 120 days of hire.- Registration/licensure in respective discipline (i.e. Nursing, HIMMS) Preferred

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $32.57/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
