Position Overview

Seeking a Remote CPA / Tax Manager to join our team in a generalist capacity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across a variety of clients and tax scenarios, while also having the autonomy and flexibility of a fully remote environment.

You will play a key role in managing client relationships, reviewing tax work, and providing strategic guidance to individuals and small-to-mid-sized businesses.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review:
    • Individual (1040), business (1120S, 1065), and basic corporate returns
  • Manage a portfolio of clients across multiple industries
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services
  • Review work prepared by staff and provide mentorship/coaching
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding tax strategy, questions, and planning opportunities
  • Assist with year-end planning and projections
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
  • Support process improvements and firm growth initiatives

Qualifications
  • Active CPA license (required)
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience
  • Strong background in individual and business taxation
  • Experience reviewing returns and managing client relationships
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with tax software (e.g., UltraTax, CCH, Drake, or similar)

Preferred (but not required)
  • Experience in a regional or mid-sized firm
  • Exposure to multi-state taxation
  • Interest in advisory and client-facing work
  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience
