Position Summary

Backed by New Mountain Capital, Amerit is rapidly expanding through both acquisitions and organic growth. Amerit recently acquired a leading fleet maintenance business in the Midwest and Southeast, Kirk Nationalease, that will serve as the backbone for Amerit's On-site expansion with more physical locations. We deliver industry-leading service, scale, and innovation to keep America's fleets moving. 

Finance Director - Divisional CFO (Amerit Fleet Onsite Division) 

The Finance Director will serve as the chief financial officer for the Amerit Fleet Onsite Division, assuming full scope financial responsibility for the legacy Kirk Nationalease business and all financial operations, billing, accounts payable, treasury, and strategic financial planning. This is a key leadership role and a critical member of the management team. The successful candidate will be a business strategist and financial partner-someone who drives growth and operational excellence through data-driven insights, forward-looking financial planning, and disciplined execution. This role requires a leader who can scale with a fast-growing division and assume incremental responsibility rapidly. 

The Finance Director will supervise and mentor accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable teams while providing strategic financial guidance to shop managers and senior leadership. This comprehensive role demands a deep understanding of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, cash flow management, and accounting, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights that drive profitable growth. 

Compensation: Competitive Salary Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! $180,000 - $200,000 base salary depending on experience and location; this role is also bonus-eligible

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Business Strategy 

  • Develop and lead the monthly Business Review (MBR) process, presenting key performance indicators, financial insights, and variance analysis to corporate and local management; drive accountability and inform strategic decision-making across the organization. 
  • Implement, maintain, and continuously enhance a robust 13-week rolling cash flow forecast, identifying liquidity risks and opportunities; ensure the division maintains optimal working capital and operational liquidity. 
  • Conduct comprehensive monthly variance analysis against budget and forecast, identifying root causes of performance deviations and developing corrective action plans in collaboration with operational leaders. 
  • Serve as primary financial business partner to Shop Managers and operational leaders, providing proactive financial insights, benchmarking analysis, and recommendations to improve operating efficiency and profitability. 
  • Lead annual budgeting and long-range financial planning processes; develop realistic, detailed budgets that drive accountability and support strategic growth initiatives. 
  • Conduct peer shop analysis and performance benchmarking to identify best practices and opportunities for operational improvement and cost optimization. 

Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations 

  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting to local and corporate management, including preparation and submission of subsidiary financial results for corporate consolidation; deliver clear, actionable financial narratives alongside financial statements. 
  • Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and complete balance sheet reviews and account reconciliations. 
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure full compliance with US GAAP, US tax requirements, and company accounting policies. 
  • Coordinate matching of intercompany and intersegment balances among all parties; ensure accurate consolidation support. 
  • Support external audit procedures and maintain effective relationships with auditors. 

Lease Accounting & Subject Matter Expert 

  • Serve as the company's subject matter expert on lease accounting (ASC 842); ensure all operating and finance leases are properly identified, recorded, and reported in accordance with current accounting standards. 
  • Maintain lease inventory, perform lease accounting calculations, and ensure accurate balance sheet presentation and footnote disclosure. 
  • Evaluate lease arrangements for proper classification and impact on financial position; provide guidance to operations on lease accounting implications of new equipment or facility decisions. 

Treasury & Working Capital Management 

  • Oversee day-to-day treasury and working capital activities, including cash management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions to ensure liquidity, timely payments, and effective collections. 
  • Verify payroll and accounts payable runs, assisting in processing as needed; ensure compliance with payment terms and tax withholding requirements. 
  • Manage sales and use tax compliance, including timely preparation, review, and filing of returns, while ensuring adherence to applicable state and local tax regulations. 

Team Leadership & Organizational Development 

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable team members; build a high-performance finance function that scales with divisional growth. 
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments to provide financial insights and relevant reporting that supports operational excellence. 

Key Competencies and Minimum Education: 

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with demonstrated advancement into financial planning and analysis roles 
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience 
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business (CPA highly preferred) 
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP with demonstrated expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842) 
  • Proven experience developing and managing budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash flow models in a dynamic business environment 
  • Experience implementing and leading monthly business review processes with variance analysis and performance metrics 
  • Knowledge of cost of goods sold similar to a manufacturing or service-intensive environment 
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, and data analysis 
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and learning 
  • Strong ability to communicate financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration, flexibility, and proactive problem-solving mindset
